The blower was received on 01/08/15, with the following as the complaint: The starter hangs up and the last time it did, it almost tore his hand up, check out and see if we can find anything wrongWhen a piece of
equipment comes into our store, we log the model number and the serial number and schedule it for a certain day to be worked on. It is then placed on a hook, in the back of our shop area, where our "to be worked on" equipment is located. Mr*** had included a copy of his purchase receipt.Our technician *** ***, started & checked the blower, and couldn't find a problem with the unit. *** made no adjustments of any kind to the blowerWhen Mr*** came in to pick up his blower, he insisted it wasn't his, as his was clean and did not show any signs of grease, oil or dirt. The manufacturer places the serial tag label on the bottom of the unit and the serial number matched the purchased serial number from his receipt. I do not personally inspect the condition of a unit (clean, dirty, old, new) when it comes in to our shopI don't know why he wasn't notified or why he had no record of being notified and I cannot un-ring that bell, unfortunatelyWe have started our 25th year in business and I venture to say, if we were doing shoddy work or treating people badly, or making customers feel like they couldn't trust us, we wouldn't still be in business. I don't believe we have had a complaint in years, nor have we lost anyone's equipmentMr*** was not charged anything for us to inspect the blower. It is unfortunate he feels this way, but again the serial number label is placed by the manufacturer and the label on the blower matched his receipt and the number we recorded for our records as well. Review: on 2/14/2013 I bought a Stihl brand hand blower in san luis obisbo ca. had troubel with recoil starter locking and causing injury to my self.talked to mid coast mower rep at counter about concern was told to bring it in could possable recoil starter cathing or carbuator jet leakin into cylinder thay would check it out that it was under 2 year warrenty that date was 1/16/15 , havent heard from company 1/22/15 I stopped in was told by the lady at the counter was not looked at yet 1/23/15 was on list to inspect . agin no word stopped in 1/28/15 ask young lady at counter about my blower she stated no problem found that it was done asked why I didnt get a phone call said she called monday . I then checked my phone records no call from mid coast mower . she brought out blower sat it on counter when I seen the blower I told her this is not mine . my blower was like new condition off the floor no oil leaks or misused markings . this one she brought was oily , scrachted , gas tank stained from fuel, air filter oily and dirty fuel and gas in carburator area under filter unit stainted , oil cuming out of exhaust blowing it all over blower in front I started at home runs very rich . this is not mine the wierd thing about it this has my blowers id number . I keep my equipment in clean running order not abused this was returned to in abused condition . tryed to explane my concern they would not hear me out all thay said was its yours and shined me on . even when I brought in home my wife said thats not yours , yours was like new . my blower had at the most was 4 hrs on it in 23 mounths was not used much . bottom line I have been riped / scambed / taken by mid coast mower in atascadero ca. I have done buiness with them in the past but never again thay cannot be trusted after this .Desired Settlement: I want my orginal bg55 stihl blower back no questions ask or a new replacement or cash back of original selling price $161.95
