Mid Hudson Animal Aid is a 501c3 charitable organization that runs a cat sanctuary, we are not a pet store. Our adoption agreement is...

legally binding and makes no guarantee as to future health of an animal. Adopted animals are healthy at the time of adoption. The kitten contracted FIP (not FIV) two months post adoption. This is an unpredictable disease and one for which there is no definitive test. MHAA is one of the few shelters in New York that has an FIV room and we would never euthanize a cat due to a positive FIV test. The adopter of the kitten was contacted several times by MHAA, by phone and in person. He was contacted by the President of the organization to discuss the cat’s condition and then by the Treasurer, who met him to take the cat to our vet, at our cost. We can provide proof of the cat's veterinary examinations. MHAA covered the cost of the care (exam and diagnosis at the vet) and ultimate euthanasia for the ki tten. The owner verbally expressed to our President that he had read up on FIP and understood it was not MHAA’s fault and consented that we handled the situation to his satisfaction.

I put in an application to adopt two kittens. I have perfect references and two vets. After a week I contacted the shelter and the manager gave me attitude and said when she wants she will get around to it. Then I went on petfinder and they changed all the animals names around and told me they got rid of the animals. My kids were heart broken.
