It is great that [redacted] noticed a wheel bearing issue immediatelyWe noticed it immediately also after replacing the transmission which made a lot more noise than the wheel bearingThe noise was so loud in the front that [redacted] had already replaced the front wheel bearings and brakes which didn't helpThey wasted a lot of money and time doing thatWhen [redacted] originally brought the vehicle to us a month or so before getting it towed in we checked itShe was standing their and noticed that when the front wheels started turning the noise started immediatelyThe rear wheels don't start turning on the lift themselves because it is a front wheel drive car, most everybody can understand thatAfter the transmission was replaced no noise from the front area was noticeableWe also noticed the lack of presenting a signed statement from [redacted] at C&R stating that he was positive that the transmission wasn't bad and making a louder noise than the rear wheel bearingsMid Ohio Transmission's customer base is growing daily because we are a fair and honest businessThe idea that [redacted] says she was tricked is nothing more than a dishonest attempt not to pay her bill as agreedShe is absolutely sure that the repair was needed

The entire reason that I was "so sure" that my transmission needed fix and this was the correct way to go was only because brian had told me that was the issue from the beginningMy car is only getting louder so I have trouble believing that there could have possibly been any louder noise coming through to where brian didnt realize it was the wheel bearings in the first placeThe entire reason [redacted] made no comments on the transmission itself is because they are not his specialtyHes not as familiar with transmission work as he is other mechanical issues so he was not going to make an uneducated guess, if you will, about what was done or not done to my car about thatWhen brian claims that I was standing there and saw them look at my car, I was still standing or so feet from the carThey had it up on the lift and I wasnt sure if I could be standing that close so I stood back a littleThey quickly assessed what was wrong with it but never gave specificsI was never shown the wheels turning nor was the car on so I could hear where the noise was fromI was never shown any rod that was broke which is what he originally told me was the issueAnd after that first meeting I was never told or shown what exactly was wrongIm still not positive on what was wrong with my old transmissionI took his word, because I thought we were somewhat friends, that it was a differential rod, and then that I would need work on the entire transmissionAny one who knows me knows that I would never try to screw someone over like this by not paying the billIve already paid more than half and even after I expressed to brian my concerns that he never fixed the actual problem with my carIf that was my intentions I would have never wrote into the Revdex.com, I would have simply just never paid himI was truly upset by that statement but I just feel as though ill be paying a ton of money for something I didnt really need fixedI never denied exactly what work he did to the car, but after getting my car back and still having the noise it does which is only getting worse, I still believe that it is what I specifically took the car in forI took the car in for a noise and I dont understand how my car had multiple problems making noise come from both the front and back of my carAnd why it wasnt this loud before or why he didnt notice until basically I was picking up the carWhether or not my transmission needed work done or not or my starter was starting to go bad, I only took it to fix the grinding and like brian said I was sure it was my transmission but only because thats what he told meUnfortunately he is the only one I got an opinion fromWe are the ones that have been driving the car for the past years and although I may not know a lot about cars I still know what my car sounds like, how it drives and how its handled

Unfortunately I had some personal issues to take care of Friday and would of returned the call Monday morningThis transmission repair is out of warranty and since we are not moving quickly enough the vehicle will be ready for pickup by the end of the dayThe transmission will be placed in a box
and the vehicle can be towed awayNot only is it out of warranty but a bad radiator leaked anti freeze into the transmission, causing the failureI was willing to do this repair below cost just to help them out before this complaint was filed

Brian claims that I had brought the car in july 30th for a starter and then decided to get my transmission fixedI orginially had taken my car to him in june and we test drove it down the road so he could hear the noiseWhen we got back to his shop he and his son looked at the car and told me he thought it was a differential rod and that I needed a new transmissionI took my car home after that and then I had trouble starting it one morningWhen I couldnt get it to start I let it sit in my yard for some timeI finally decided to get the transmission fixed and thats when we had the car towed on july 30th the tow man was able to jump it and took it to brians shopI didnt say I needed the car in a time frame because I thought itd be able two weeks lole brian told me but after the 3rd weak or so I started to express my need to have it done as soon as possibleAfter that time when he finally said it was done september 22nd I informed brian that my boyfriend would have to come pick up the car because I was working and he told me that was fineThat was also the first I heard about the wheelbearing needing changedI had taken the car to him to fix the noise it was making and that was originally the only reasonWe had even discussed with brian that we changed the front wheel bearings already because we thought thats what the noise was and he and his son agreed that they would have thought the same thingHe claims he told me of the problem as soon as he was aware of it which seemed to be after he told me he was test driving it on september 22nd to make sure it was okayIf he had not drove it any other time then how does he know that wasnt the same noiseMy boyfriend went to pick the car up on september 22nd after brian told me it was ready and brian was not at the shopHis son was there and told my boyfriend that he could not pick the car and I had to be thereAt no point did brian tell me this when I explained he would pick up the car which is why I didnt get to pick it up until september like brian saidIm confused as to why if the transmission really was causing that noise at the beginning then why did my wheelbearings start acting up a month after he had my carI unfortunately did not get a second opinion or even have them show my boyfriend or I what was wrong with the actual transmission nor has he ever told me what part was actually bad, just that it needed replacedI took his word that that was the problemI just dont understand how I took it to get a noise fixed and when I get it back its still making the noiseAnd if it really was the problem then why was the issue now my wheelbearings and how did he not know that until I was picking it upI am not one to cause conflict so this has been hard for me but from the second week of brian having my car till now my gut has told me something was wrongAnd everyone I have spoken to about it says it doesnt make any sense to them eitherI am meeting with another mechanic this week and I hope to know more then but the deadline for this was almost up and I decided to write back

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me We are taking the vehicle to another transmission place and we are sending a tow truck today (March 27, 2017) to pick the vehicle up We need the keys and transmission to be with the vehicle and not blocked in so the tow truck can have access to the vehicle

The entire reason that I was "so sure" that my transmission needed fix and this was the correct way to go was only because brian had told me that was the issue from the beginning. My car is only getting louder so I have trouble believing that there could have possibly been any louder noise coming through to where brian didnt realize it was the wheel bearings in the first place. The entire reason [redacted] made no comments on the transmission itself is because they are not his specialty. Hes not as familiar with transmission work as he is other mechanical issues so he was not going to make an uneducated guess, if you will, about what was done or not done to my car about that. When brian claims that I was standing there and saw them look at my car, I was still standing 5 or so feet from the car. They had it up on the lift and I wasnt sure if I could be standing that close so I stood back a little. They quickly assessed what was wrong with it but never gave specifics. I was never shown the wheels turning nor was the car on so I could hear where the noise was from. I was never shown any rod that was broke which is what he originally told me was the issue. And after that first meeting I was never told or shown what exactly was wrong. Im still not positive on what was wrong with my old transmission. I took his word, because I thought we were somewhat friends, that it was a differential rod, and then that I would need work on the entire transmission. Any one who knows me knows that I would never try to screw someone over like this by not paying the bill. Ive already paid more than half and even after I expressed to brian my concerns that he never fixed the actual problem with my car. If that was my intentions I would have never wrote into the Revdex.com, I would have simply just never paid him. I was truly upset by that statement but I just feel as though ill be paying a ton of money for something I didnt really need fixed. I never denied exactly what work he did to the car, but after getting my car back and still having the noise it does which is only getting worse, I still believe that it is what I specifically took the car in for. I took the car in for a noise and I dont understand how my car had multiple problems making noise come from both the front and back of my car. And why it wasnt this loud before or why he didnt notice until basically I was picking up the car. Whether or not my transmission needed work done or not or my starter was starting to go bad, I only took it to fix the grinding and like brian said I was sure it was my transmission but only because thats what he told me. Unfortunately he is the only one I got an opinion from. We are the ones that have been driving the car for the past 4 years and although I may not know a lot about cars I still know what my car sounds like, how it drives and how its handled.

The customer brought her vehicle in on July 30, 2015 due to a starter issue. While the vehicle was in our care she decided to have the transmission fixed as well. Due to having the transmission work completed here, we decided to fix her starter for free and not charge her for the tow. The cost of...

the starter repair would have been $162.50 plus tax and $50.00 in towing, both were waived due to having the transmission repair completed. The vehicle was brought in on July 30th, and I was not until August 11th that she authorized the repair. The customer was originally told that the repair would be completed in roughly two weeks. The transmission in the vehicle is rare and we pride ourselves in getting the best parts for our customers. We tried to locate new parts for the vehicle but were not able to locate them. The transmission was put on the market by the manufacturer and then shortly taken off of the market due to its unreliability which made it harder to locate parts. The decision was made, due to unable to locate parts, to locate a used, low mileage transmission. My customers use my business line for all business related follow up items. This customer is an acquaintance and used my personal cell phone to communicate with me for her repairs. This would not normally be an issue but I do not always have access to this phone. The customer also would contact an employee via his personal cell phone instead of using the business line. On August 20th, the customer contacted me about how her vehicle was coming along and I informed her that I would be taking the vehicle apart the next day. On August 23rd the customer sent a text to my personal cell with an "LOL" after asking about her vehicle, she never stated that she needed the vehicle in a time frame. On August 28th, I replied via text that I was having issues getting parts and that it should be ready by the following Friday, September 4th. On September 1st the customer asked about her vehicle and this was the first she had mentioned that she needed it in a specific time frame. I responded back that I was still waiting on parts. I replied again on September 11th the same message, that I was waiting on parts. On September 14th, I sent the customer a reply that I should have more information on parts by 10:00 am. On September 18th, the customer sent me a text that she would be picking the car up whether it was completed or not and wanted to know her total. Several days passed and several more text messages were exchanged, in the end she decided to waited for the parts to come and to have the transmission fixed. I am an experienced mechanic with over 29 years of experience in the industry with training in both aftermarket and dealer programs. The noise the customer heard is in fact a separate noise than what she is claiming. I can sympathize with her but the fact is the noises are independent of each other. The vehicle sat at our location from July 30th when it was towed in free of charge and the customer picked up the vehicle on September 23, 2015. The customer knew the vehicle was ready for pick up on September 22, 2015, but decided to pick it up the next day. I did all that was possible to ensure that the customer's vehicle was repaired properly within my control. The customer was informed that there was an issue with parts as soon as I could inform her.

It is great that [redacted] noticed a wheel bearing issue immediately. We noticed it immediately also after replacing the transmission which made a lot more noise than the wheel bearing. The noise was so loud in the front that [redacted] had already replaced the front wheel bearings and brakes which didn't help. They wasted a lot of money and time doing that. When [redacted] originally brought the vehicle to us a month or so before getting it towed in we checked it. She was standing their and noticed that when the front wheels started turning the noise started immediately. The rear wheels don't start turning on the lift themselves because it is a front wheel drive car, most everybody can understand that. After the transmission was replaced no noise from the front area was noticeable. We also noticed the lack of presenting a signed statement from [redacted] at C&R stating that he was positive that the transmission wasn't bad and making a louder noise than the rear wheel bearings. Mid Ohio Transmission's customer base is growing daily because we are a fair and honest business. The idea that [redacted] says she was tricked is nothing more than a dishonest attempt not to pay her bill as agreed. She is absolutely sure that the repair was needed.
