Company accepted money for supplies and service and did not complete the contracted work. Company gave no notice and did not respond to calls or textsCompany is a contractor and claims to have construction and renovation expertise, specifically with drywall and drop-in acoustic ceiling installation. Company owner Jesus J[redacted] accepted $3400 which he indicated represented the cost of all material and supplies. Mr. J[redacted] painted, and erected framing and Sheetrock as per agreement but did not complete the painting and did not install drop-in ceiling as promised, although he accepted money which, according to him, was for all material and supplies for the job. He indicated verbally and by text that his crew would be on site on a specific day and at a specifIc time to perform services related to ceiling work. He failed to show up and has not communicated any further. The job is incomplete despite the fact that he was paid $3400 in advance. He has offered no receipts and no accounting of labor charges to support the amount paid to him. In addition, the work was less than satisfactory.Desired SettlementI am seeking: 1) either the full dollar amount of material and supplies he claims were spent for the ceiling, 2) a full accounting of the labor and material costs spent to date, and 3) copies of the receipts for the materials so the cost of the work can be properly accounted for.Final Consumer Response Julie- thank you for your help on this. I was referred to this business and met with[redacted]. I needed some repair done on my property at[redacted]. I asked him for a quote and he said we would just pay as we went. As he repaired and painted I paid. Then he started to tell me that he wanted more for the job - over $1000 more. I paid him $1400. I told him that we did not sign a contract for that amount and he had not completed the work. In addition, he went and did not use any drip clothes which resulted in ruining all my carpet and wood floors. I have pictures of the condition he left my property in. This went on for over a month. He was paid according to the work done. I have pictures to support my claim. He also tried to bill my job for work that was not done and I have work orders to justify that also. He was paid in full for all work completed and then tried to force me to pay more. This business tried to force me to pay for work he did not do and would not negotiate the damages he caused in my home. I met with him several times to document damages and at that point he refused to even clean up materials left in my home and in my drive. There was never an agreement for the outrageous amount he change it to after causing damages. He is not honest nor professional.Final Business Response
