Mid South Line X

Midsouth Line X installed a spray on liner in my truck bed on 9/8/2014. A panel was removed on the tail gate for coating spraying. Line X sprayed my truck bed with their product on 9/8/2014. The panel on the tail gate was removed for spraying the coating on. This panel has ten screws that holds it in place. I noticed that one of the screws was missing in the panel a few days ago. I tried to tighten the other screws but four of the remaining nine were stripped out (would not tighten). They (Line X) were the last people that tightened the screws when installing the panel after spraying. This is a [redacted] that I'm restoring for my grand child.I went to the place of business at [redacted] Monday 8th of June 2015 in the AM. I went inside and a young guy come from the working area. I explained the problem to the guy and we went to look at the problem. He said what do you want me to do you know this is not a new truck. I said that I wanted the stripped out screws replaced with larger ones. He said they did not have anything to do with this. At that time I was getting very angry and I guess he could see my face getting red. He said he would get the owner of the business who came out of the building. His response was much like the young guy " we did not do that". He said that they had installed hundreds of liners and never had this problem. My blood pressure was rising because they trying to push me around. I'm old (74) but do not like people who take advantage of older people. As I raised my voice in anger the owner left. I called Line X office and suppose to get a call in 24 hours. All I wanted was five screws replaced with larger ones. I'm a old [redacted] guy who does not like being pushed around. I hope this will result in a large black mark put on their business. I will tell everyone I know and come in contact with to stay clear of them.Desired SettlementI have replaced the five screws with larger ones at a cost of three dollars. I will never do business with these people again but would like my three dollars back.Business Response In response the incident mentioned above.When the truck was presented at the shop it had a plastic drop in liner installed with the original lift gate assembly screws removed and after market screws installed to hold down the plastic liner. After prepping and spraying the truck we reassembled the lift gate panel. We try to replace with OEM screws if available. We did not "strip" any screws.I was attempting to explain this to the customer and offered to pick up some OEM srews and would replace them the next day but at his point he was yelling at me so profusely he was not understanding. I asked him, " Do you realize you are just yelling at me?"At this point there was nothing productive taking place so I walked back into the shop and the customer left.I am always willing to do whatever I can to exceed my customers expectations and if there is a problem we will make it right, just give us the opportunity. In this instance we were not given that opportunity.
