Mid-South Vision Center Reviews (1)

Did not supply quality service. Refund requested for exam. I got a pair of glasses a year ago from Dr Davis. My appt was on a Saturday. Dr Davis was VERY impatient and showed total frustration during the exam especially during the "this lens or that lens" test. Sometimes the lens would look exactly the same to me and he would get so angry because I couldn't make my mind up quickly. His attitude made me very uncomfortable. I didn't know whether to agree or not to agree with the different lenses he changed during the exam. Finally the exam was over. Before I could get to the front desk to choose frames and such, I could hear his tire wheels screeching as he was leaving the parking lot. Apparently he had something to do and I was holding him up. I ordered the glasses and frames. They called me to come get them. The frame they ordered was totally not the frame I chose. I asked about the girl who worked with me and they said she didn't work there. So I had to wait a few more weeks for them to reorder the frame I wanted. The prescription in the lenses was not correct in my opinion but close enough that I could wear the glasses every now and then. Just not daily. I relied mostly on the prescription of my old glasses. A year passed and I wanted a pair of prescription sunglasses. I made another appointment. They said Dr Davis wasn't available for the day/time I needed but there was another doctor there during that time. A female. I was glad. I really didn't want Dr Davis's impatient attitude. Not this time. The female dr examined me. She was very pleasant. I had confidence in her so I ordered a pair of sunglasses and a pair of regular glasses hoping her prescription was correct. It wasn't. The sunglasses came back first. My vision was nothing compared to what she showed me it would be at the end of the exam. I was not gonna waste my money like this again. I contacted my insurance company. The said to take them back to see if the prescription could be corrected. I did and I had to deal with Dr Davis. The receptionist said the female Dr "didn't work there." Again? Dr Davis showed his bad attitude again and angrily told me he would refund the money I had paid for the sunglasses, the regular glasses and the exam. I accepted his offer and left the sunglasses with him and canceled the regular glasses order. I called my insurance company to get another dr on their list. They told me that Dr Davis had refunded my cost of the glasses but not the exam and they had paid him for the exam so I was not eligible for another exam for a year. Dr Davis had told me he would refund EVERYTHING. He cannot be trusted and I would not recommend him for anything. Very bad attitude and should not be dealing with the public.Desired SettlementI would like for Dr Davis to refund the cost of the exam since neither time did he satisfy or correct my vision.Business Response I would like to apologize if Mr. D had the impression that I was frustrated or that he was rushed in anyway during his initial examination on 2-28-2015. In my 30+ years of practice I am very aware that the decisions during and eye exam are not always easy for a patient and this is not frustrating to me. Perhaps when I explained the "inconsistencies" of the exam (which I did document) he got the impression that, in some way, I was indicating that it was his fault. That was surely not my intension. That said, his "story" about my "wheels screeching as I left" is simply not true. My schedule for that date indicates he had a 10:30 appointment and I had 3 more patients after him that morning. In 2015 he left with 20/20 vision and never called or came in with complaints of those glasses. On April 1, 2016 my associate Dr. B did a complete exam and informed Mr.D that he had cataracts and documented that she "educated him on Cataracts". Meaning his vision wouldn't be perfect (even though it was 20/20) and may fluctuate under different lighting conditions, etc. When he came in for a re-check with me on 4-19-16 because he "couldn't see as well with his new sunglasses as he could with his old glasses". I spent 45 minutes retesting and actually demonstrating how the very dark sunglass lenses reduced his vision slightly and that it was mostly due to the cataracts. I compared my exam results with those of his previous two Rxs and without the dark gray lenses he agreed he saw better with his newest Rx. I tried several times to explain this and offered him several solutions, but he just kept saying "I don't understand why 20/20 isn't perfect vision". When I realized he would never be satisfied I asked if he would be happy with a refund on his "glasses" and he said "yes". We issued the credit to his card.If Mr. D was not happy with me or his glasses last year why would he call my office for an exam this year?We spent about an hour and a half testing and retesting Mr. D and I did my best to demonstrate and explain that his glasses were correct and why his vision wouldn't be perfect and variable due to his cataracts and diabetes. I gave him a complete refund on his glasses, but I do not feel that anyone could have done a more accurate and professional examination. I am very sorry that he did not feel that way. However, I do not feel a refund of his examination is in order.
