On October 13, 2014 Mid-State arrived at Mr. [redacted]'s home for a “no heat” service visit. At which time the technician had observed a bad circuit board in his furnace. On October 16, 2014, Mid-State returned and replaced the circuit board at which...

time the furnace was operating properly. Mr. [redacted] advises the technician that he removes the drain tube from time to time to replace the filter in the furnace. The part, the circuit board was covered under the parts warranty. On or about November 21, 2014 Mr. [redacted] notifies us of a water leak emanating from your furnace. Our technician arrived on the same day and determined that the drain tube to the condensate trap was missing a clamp and a small drip was present. The technician took photo’s of the furnace and flooring in the surrounding area. The photo's reveal that the furnace appears to have been leaking for some time as the bottom of the furnace has visible rust across the base platform. Prior to last month's service visit we have not been present at the home since August of 2011. If proper maintenance had been performed throughout the years this crisis would have been averted. The system is a highly technical piece of equipment that has many moving parts and requires maintenance for general cleaning as well as safety inspections to determine all the functions of the furnace are operating properly. A failure to do so could jeopardize the proper operation of the system as well as the warranty with the manufacturer due to the lack of maintenance. While we sympathize with your frustrations on this issue, proper maintenance would have avoided this.

I would like to recognize your service technician Brian who came to my house on October 24, 2016. He introduced himself at the front door by extending his hand, giving me his name and the reason for the visit. He was polite, professional, knowledgeable and extremely personable. He performed the required tests on the boiler in a timely manor and led the area clean and neat.
When I asked whether or not I owed any money, he quickly called the office in order to answer my question. His call prompted my request to continue my service agreement that I received in the mail. Whithout his call I would have forgotten to renew my contract.
Brian is a wonderful addition to an already stellar company. You are lucky to have such a contentious employee. I will actively recommend Mid-State to anyone who asks.
Sincerely, [redacted]

Had a leak in my ceiling, turns out the furnace which was 14 years old started leaking from the heater. I called AJ Perri because they are everywhere and now I know why. The price to replace my unit was more than my car! I made a few more calls and came across these guys. Salesman came out, went through everything and presented a price that was more in line with what I was expecting. I needed the heat, have kids, so they came the next day, covered the house in drop cloths, went to work and by 3pm they had my heat up and running with a brand new unit that didn't require me to give them my first born!

Thanks Jack and thanks Mid-State for being there when I needed it.

As we had received this document we had passed the final inspections with the township of [redacted]. All violations with the township had been rectified and resolved. The permits are the only issue at this point. We had advised [redacted] on or about May 13, 2014 that we could not waive the permit fee but would be willing to waive the processing fee. Our stance from May stands today. We would waive the processing fee of $50 which would bring his total amount due to Mid-State, $498.00.

Review: A new furnace, coil and condenser was installed at my home July 27,2015 and right from the start there was very high humidity inside the house, so bad I had difficulty breathing. I called many times asking that they send someone out to adjust it but only after realizing I still owed them $300 did they finally send a tech after almost 2 weeks. The humidity has dropped from 75-76% to 61-66+% depending on the temperature outdoors. Days that the outdoor temp is in the 90s the humidity drops from 66+% to 61%. The manufacture's tech explained that the longer the condenser runs, the more humidity it extracts from the house and that the size of the installed condenser (3 1/2 ton for 1740 sq ft) was "marginal". The indoor relative humidity should not be any higher than 60%, I'm afraid of getting mold in my home, but the dealer is refusing to do anything about this. I have called every other business day ever since the installation and have gotten the run-around. Last conversation with Lisa, the woman in charge, said she would inform "Bob" and "Brian". She would not tell me their titles. The telephone number for the Howell office is [redacted],the number that came up automatically in the field was for the Red Bank office (I only had dealings with the office in Howell). I walk my adult community with over 1900 homes built by the same builder and no one has a condenser as large as mine, it's almost twice the size as everyone else.Desired Settlement: I am not a technician, but want to see a remedy to the problem of extreme humidity. If an adjustment of settings is not possible, then a replacement perhaps of a smaller size will be necessary. I would expect an adjustment to be made for the difference between the smaller unit and the larger in the form of a refund.

Mid-State installed a new furnace and central air conditioning system on 6.29.2015. The customer had subsequently called our office relentlessly following the installation with regard to temperature and humidity issues. Our installation had returned to [redacted] home several times throughout this process inspecting the project all of which were resolved by adjusting the thermostat each time. We sent our service manager on 7.13.2015(service ticket attached) again to answer her complaints about temperature and humidity. The common complaint was that it was too cold or too warm in the home. Since our visit on the 13th [redacted] has made her various complaints to the various social media and government entities. The condensate drain is scheduled to be relocated on Tuesday 8.18.2015 in order to appease the client, this has no added benefit by having the condensate drain at 36” versus 12”. As for the humidity, I spoke to [redacted] this am, 8.14.2015 @ approx. 11am, per our conversation since we had been to the home on 7.13.2015 the humidity level in the home has been dropping and is now at an acceptable level to her. She believes that her home was saturated with moisture prior to the installation as she advised she could hear her furniture “popping” in the house. Mid-State at this point in time considers this matter closed as we had addressed her concerns and issues prior to receiving this complaint and request that this matter be closed at this time.

Review: On 10/12/14 discovered we had no heat and called Mid-State since they installed the unit in 2010 and was still under warranty.Tech came on 10/13/14 and opened furnace door and removed the train tube to the condensate trap. He checked furnace and found it needed a new board. Left everything open as he had to order the part. Came back on 10/16/14 and fixed furnace. He either did not put the tube back on or did not clamp it properly. On 11/20/14 noticed that the wooden floor by the furnace was starting to discolor. Opened furnace door and saw that hose was not on and floor was wet. Water leaked under the wood and left a discolored floor. Called Mid-State and a different tech came and he stated previous tech never clamped hose . He clamped the hose and took pictures of the floor and said the office will contact me . As I never heard from them I called and was told the owner [redacted] would call me. He never called me back and today I received a letter blaming me for the damage. I have proof that he is wrong and will present it when necessary. The first tech was new with them ( 6 months) and kept calling for help..He did not complete the job properly and caused the damage to my wooden floor. Really surprised that they would react like this as I have recommended customers to them. Guess the mighty dollar can cause untruths.Desired Settlement: replacement of damaged floor

Mid-State installed the unit on 9.19.2011. Mid-State has had a total of (4) service calls since the initial installation. The first on 10.20.2011 which was a failed inspection from the township with regard to insulation on the flue piping, the second was an air conditioning maintenance on 5.25.2012 @ which time there was no mention of freon or leaks, the service technician made no notes of such things, the third was a heat maintenance on his heating system on 10.11.2012, and the fourth and final visit was a service call on 10.25.2012 for a failed part on the heating system, a draft inducer motor failed, the customer was upset that he had to pay for labor on the call which was past the 1 year he purchased originally. We have no data or mentions of leaking freon or issues that [redacted] claims. No calls to our office since May of 2012. This is now May of 2015, the client has no labor warranty as the warranty expired in 2012. The only coverage the customer has would be if a component in the condenser, furnace or coil has failed, at which time he would be awarded only the part that failed and would still be liable for labor charges and supporting material charges. [redacted] part warranty is set to expire on 9.18.2016. At this point [redacted] can obtain service from any [redacted] he desires and he would be liable for all applicable labor charges and accessory items. Mid-State has no liability for a refrigerant leak on his system, his labor warranty has expired, he has been using other organizations to service his system since we installed the product which violates our contract as we have no idea if the servicing contractor(s) have created a problem where one did not exist. We consider this matter closed.

Last summer we did an entire demolition/renovation job on our home. We hired midstate to install brand new heat and air system. All I've experienced is issue after issue with them. I've held off writing a poor review for over a year but it's reached a point that I couldn't hold back anymore.
During installation this is what we experienced: they installed torn and ripped duct along the attic floor. I would have to continually remind them about different areas of the house that required Vents in the ceiling, they didn't run any floor vents in the kitchen, when they finally did they cut it on an angel so the vent covers would sit crooked. Know that you will need to babysit them every step of the way. one day I came to the house to find that they had a two foot high return vent intsralled in our coat closet. They left large amount of debris left behind in my basement, and always failed to meet commitments Dates There was a vent in the basement that would make a bang sound each time the unit would turn on. The irony of the whole thing is the midstate Forman who was to oversee the installation would always comment on how poorly my other contractors were performing but failed to realize how poorly he was performing. To be clear most all of the above issues were resolved after phone calls, and a number of emails.
After installation.
Midstate comes by to "test run" the units and ensure all is working properly. First morning after running our brand new "tested" AC unit I woke up to find water leaking through our brand new freshly painted bedroom ceiling all over our brand new carpeted bedroom. I go to the attic directly where the unit was installed and find the attic floor has water all over it. I called my friend who did all my plumbing work to check it out while he's on the way over I went to check if the water had traveled into the first floor and basement to find a puddle of water on the basement floor.... When the plumber came over the notices that midstate had incorrectly installed some sort of over flow drain that was supposed to drain the condensation.
When I notified midstate about the problem response I got was we fired the tech who "tested" your unit and sometimes there are issues we only find after installation. I guess he's right being that their most of their techs are novices. They also failed final inspections by the township for a bunch of different reasons. Most of them I got someone else to fix cause I was just so fed up with the amount of unprofessionalism from midstate.
We continue to have issues with The second floor unit especially in our master bedroom. It is always colder in the winter and hooter in the summer then the rest of the floor. Leaving our children's bedroom freezing at night during summer and sweltering in the winter. Midstate has been out here several times to resolve that issue all to no avail. Recently I emailed them saying that the downstairs wasn't cooling. The tech came over while I was out gave us a pink paper that says he checked the unit and everything's fine. All the while the outdoor unit fan hasn't been functioning for two weeks. So we got air blowing out the vents but it isn't cool air....
There's so much more to our experience with midstate, I tried to keep it short. Know they are the absolute worst company to deal with.
