Aloha Ms ***,Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding I have been out of the office due to an illness As our record will indicate we value our good standing with the Revdex.com Thank you for your understanding.Ultimate Cremation Services of Hawaii LLC was contacted by our client (the deceased) to assist her in completing her cremation and final disposition arrangements After reviewing all the options presented to her, she chose a simple cremation and private ash scattering ceremony to be performed by Ultimate Cremation Services.Our client also elected to sign a form which authorizes Ultimate Cremation Services to proceed with the chosen arrangements without contacting the legal next of kin (who she declined to provide contact information for) We were provided with the contact information for Mr [redacted] with the understanding that he would only handle the payment for the arrangements.Upon the death of our client, we contacted Mr [redacted] and informed him of our intent to proceed with the cremation and final disposition arrangements set forth by the deceased We provided him with our general price list and the statement of services that was agreed to by the deceased.Upon receiving the statement, Mr [redacted] requested additional information regarding the arrangements and requested that the deceased cremated remains be released to him He was advised that Ultimate Cremation Services was legally charged with carrying out the wishes of the deceased and therefore could not release the ashes He was also informed that because he was not the legal next of kin we could not provide him with any information contained in the arrangements with the exception of what was contained in the statement We did inform him that we would be willing to speak with the legal next of kin and explore options if they would like to be involved in the ash scattering ceremony At which point he asked for the additional cost He was provided with some options and directed to our general price list that was provided to him.Because Mr [redacted] suggested that the legal next of kin wanted to participate in the scattering ceremony, we asked him to provide contact information for them or to provide our contact information to them He refused to do so and stated that they did not speak english We asked him to honor the request of the deceased and provide payment for the arrangements as she requested.The subsequent volume of phone calls from Mr [redacted] were a repeat of his requests for the ashes and rude comments about our company He was informed by email that we would no longer accept his calls and that he could contact us only by email He then told us he was going to contact the authorities Seeing no resolution we discontinued contact with him.During this time we contacted the care home and asked them to try to located information on the legal next of kin for the deceased The care home operator was able to find a number for the brother of the deceased We spoke to him and determined that he nor his sister were planning to travel to Hawaii He did provide contact information for the niece who he said may be interested in attending a ceremony.After speaking with the niece, we found an option that the niece was comfortable with She agreed to pay the difference of $ It was agreed that this option both respected the instructions of the deceased and allowed for the niece and friends to honor her This matter has been settled to the satisfaction of the family.E ola mau loa me oePeace be with youAloha,Kevin [redacted] K***FacilitatorUltimate Cremation Services LLC [redacted]
