Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolutionPlease respond in this space ONLY] [redacted] was notified of a complaint by usIt was sent by text and was deemed successfully sent by my phoneRegardless of that, hehas not responded to our request for a partial refundI would like a response to the issues we laid out in our complaintI sent him an email this morning outlining again all of the issues we had with his work Regards, [redacted] ***

*** *** *** *** ***Dear ***--Thank you for your second notification of this issue. I have to say I have been missing some important mail from the same time period you reference for your first notification. I must suspect some mail was either stolen or sent to someone
else on my carrier route. For example I am missing a very important check payment from another project, so yes I am concerned I did not receive your first notification. I did receive your email from today. I will respond to that here.Immediately after receiving your email notification this evening, I left one message on the husband's cell phone, and one on the wife's cell phone. I did not leave a message on the [apparently] work number for the reason that I felt unsure it would be confidential. In these messages I let my good clients know that:1. Today was the first I had heard of their issues with our work [the wife and I had previously discussed and worked together on resolving the ceiling fan issue].2. I wished that they had called me when they first noted the items they were not fully satisfied with. I live very nearby and would have come right over to take care of these for them. All our previous communications have been friendly and good natured. I was surprised they did not let me know right away. They know from previous conversations that I would take care of these issues for them. 3. I would appreciate their call so the issues can be scheduled and taken care of for them. With your agreement, I would like to hear from my clients directly before I make any further response to the specific issues mentioned, with all good faith that we make a friendly resolution. Thank you for your assistance with this.Respectfully,*** ***Mid-Town Renovators***

Review: My husband and I contracted with Mid Town Renovators to repair cracks that resulted from foundation work that was done on the house. They estimated the work would take 2-3 days and they charged us almost $[redacted] for the work. It became obvious on day 3 that they were not going to be able to finish in 3 days, but they insisted that they would. At 6:00 in the evening we left to get dinner on the 3rd day When we returned at 7:00, large portions of the room were patched but not painted. [redacted] said they ran out of paint. I was skeptical at this point of that, but he had seemed honest up to this point, so I did not question him. Right after he left and for days/weeks after we discovered how much they failed to complete. The fan in the bedroom that worked when we left the house on the 3rd day was broken when we returned that night. [redacted] insisted they did not touch it, even though a crack ran through the ceiling where the fan was attached. A few days later I went to clean up in that bedroom and noticed how careless the work was in that room. They had put the curtains up prior to the walls drying and they had paint all over them. Most of the hardwood floor was splattered with paint, and there was blue paint on the white trim, door and ceiling. I texted [redacted] pictures of the damage and estimated it to be about $[redacted] (fan, curtains and labor to repair paint splatters) and asked for a refund. He did not reply to my text, but a few days later he forwarded me a copy of the contract. A few weeks later we deciced to paint the living room and finish up the bedroom. The bedroom heat register was sealed shut with plaster, the sectional couch connector was broken, the plaster was glopped on and the yellow mesh was showing, the ceiling crack was still visible, we had to purchase a new gallon of paint ($**) and used less than an 1/8th of the gallon to paint two coats, so I highly suspect that they threw out our original gallon. Leftover paint from other rooms were 3/4 of a gallon.Desired Settlement: [redacted] did excellent work up until he ran out of time. We did not notice how shoddy the work was at the time and paid him in full. I would like him to stand by his work and reimburse us for our out of pocket costs to fix the broken/ruined items and for our time and labor to do what we could to fix the mistakes.

We cannot fix the ceiling ourselves, so would request we be compensated for that also. Out of pocket expenses for us were $[redacted]. I do not know what it will cost to repair the couch or to have the ceiling crack completely fixed.
