We at the Kent Smith Midas Group (Central Point Inc) take pride in giving the ultimate customer serviceThe [redacted] family came into our East Greenbush location on 6/29/After a thorough NYS inspection, their car failed inspection for a broken sway bar linkThey declined to do the repair with us and returned for a re-inspection after a neighbor that just graduated from automotive school did the repairs for themUnder NYS law we areallowed to charge for the re-inspectionSo $might seem unfair to the customer, but an ASE technician has to bring the car in, set it up on the lift, inspect that repairs were completed and run the vehicle through the NYS computerIn most cases the technician would receive in pay $6-8, $goes to NYS, and Midas gets a $in franchise feesMaybe breakeven? East Greenbush location on 6/29/2015. After a thorough NYS inspection, their car failed inspection for a broken sway bar link. They declined to do the repair with us and returned for a re-inspection after a neighbor that just graduated from automotive school did the repairs for them. Under NYS law we areallowed to charge for the re-inspection. So $11 might seem unfair to the customer, but an ASE technician has to bring the car in, set it up on the lift, inspect that repairs were completed and run the vehicle through the NYS computer.
