Midas over charges for service repair.
I had towed a 2007 *** to have a radiator fixed. I could not get a price before the repair was started and when I went to pick the vehicle up. The manager first name *** states it would cost $1100. I argued about the price but he would not change the price. The repair should have only cost me around $550 not over a $1100.

Desired Outcome

I want half my money back. The repair should only cost me around $550. I was charged double that.

I have looked at the ticket and verified all pricing is correct. The customer was aware of the price prior to completing work on the vehicle. Prices can vary depending on the vehicle make and model. This job for this vehicle is priced correctly, the labor and parts are priced exactly per the book.

My vehicle was damaged in their shop while performing service on 5/13/2019
Today is 12/1/2019 and they have not yet taken care of the damage
I brought my 2013 *** in on 5/13/2019 for an oil change
During that process the staff that moved my car in and out of the shops ramps damaged the passenger side.
*** manager at the time agreed to resolve the issue and asked me to get quotes for repairs from shops he recomended. As he stated in work order #XXXXXXX from midas auto services and tires located at 4015 Nollensville rd Nashville TN 37211.
I brought back the estimates and he had me check in later to see hiw his boss would handle the issue, either make an insurance claim or pay directly. I checked in for the next weeks. Only to find out every time an excuse to why they haven't resolved the issue.
In august I checked in again to find out that *** no longer worked for the company and now *** was the new manager. I explained to him what had happened and showed him the old estimates, he then contacted his boss. Which new nothing about the incident apparently *** never reported the incident or the owner had forgotten about it anyways. They requested that I bring new repair estimates as the ones I had were older.
I brought the new estimates. With the changes they requested and then the cycle started again.
*** told me that the owner was going to write a check directly.
I have since then checked in many times and still to this date 12/1/2019 *** States he hasn't been able to speak to the owner.

I simply think they dont care about their customers

Desired Outcome

I ask from the business to pay for the repairs of my vehicle. It is almost 7 months later and I haven't gotten o firm answer

Midas Auto Service & Tires of Nashville Response • Aug 03, 2020

I have confirmed the customer has received a check for the damages in question and all matters have been settled.

Wrong information was entered into ***, company was contacted and nothing happened. Company refused to acknowledge issue.
I took my vehicle into the Midas on Nolansville Pike on 10/4 to have them look at an issue. They charged me 100 to look at the issue. Then told me it would be $4000 to fix my vehicle. I took the vehicle home, and was going to sell it as is, to a dealership. The dealership ran a *** on the vehicle and discovered a "mileage inconsistency," which means that the mileage was entered wrong, then sold to ***. This mileage inconsistency cost the sale of the vehicle, and was an even further hassle. I contated the Midas corporate custermer service line who said someone would be in touch regarding my complaint. Nothing ever happened, no calls or emails from anyone at Midas, or the local shop. I contacted *** who recitified the issue with their report, but this is still an issue of a company screwing an individual over, and not taking responsibility for their actions.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the service charge for the hassle of having to correct their mistake.

Midas Auto Service & Tires of Nashville Response • Aug 03, 2020

Midas apologizes for any incorrect information that was entered by the service advisor. We have confirmed the vehicle mileage has been corrected on the*** and have taken measures to ensure this does not happen again.

Midas replaced turbo charger and within 3 days it blew up and destroyed engine, and refuse to reimburse
I took my 2006 *** outback to Midas in Madison TN to replace a turbo charger. It cost me over $3400 for part and labor.within 3 days of getting car back, the Turbo charger blew up. I had car towed back to Midas and they told me that engine had seized up.I parked the car while I saved up money to replace motor.I had car towed to a garage to replace engine, and that's when they told me that the new turbo charger blew up and parts of the turbo charger worked way into engine and seized it up.I went to Midas and talked to the manager ***, he refused to do anything. The district manager *** called me soon and had me bring in the blown turbo charger. He replaced the turbo charger, but refuses to reimburse me their installation charges I paid to have them to destroy my engine. *** refuses to reimburse installation charges or even the money spent on a replacement engine.

Desired Outcome

I I want the installation charges refunded as well as engine replacement cost.

Midas Auto Service & Tires of Nashville Response • Aug 03, 2020

The customer was advised that the turbo charger that initially went bad may have caused engine damage. It was less expensive and the customers option to attempt to replace the turbo only, since the turbo was 100% confirmed bad and inop. After the repair, the engine did indeed have internal damage. This is not unusual and regardless the turbo had to be replaced. The engine damage was the result of the original turbo being INOP, not the replacement of the new turbo. The customer had a 3rd party replace the engine after he found the price less expensive than our qoute. When the engine was being replaced, we gave the customer a new turbo under warranty even though we were not installing per customer satisfaction. We feel we are not responsible for paying for an engine because we did not cause the engine to go bad. This is a common issue with the make and model of that vehicle. We want to retain the customers trust, therefore stepping outside the warranty guidelines and providing a 3rd party shop with a new turbo to replace at no charge to the customer

Customer Response • Aug 03, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The motor blew up 3 days after midas replaced turbo charger. The turbo charger that they installed destroyed engine and turbo charger itself. Midas supplied me with another turbo charger to replace the one that was defective, but refused to do anything about replacing my motor that was destroyed by their defective turbo charger. I still have paperwork from the shop that replaced my motor, stating that the turbo charger caused engine failure.

This is a dishonest shop. I went for a oil change & tire rotation. They didn't inspect the vehicle and didn't rotate the tires. After I busted them for not rotating the tires they gave me a lame excuse saying it was a safety hazard. Why would they not have told me that before pulling it out of the garage. The customer service area was filthy.

I took vehicle to Midas to be serviced. Vehicle was sent to another location without parts for vehicle that was taken off at Midas.
Friday, September 22, 2017. I took my vehicle to Midas Store Number 3621 to be serviced.

I advised the Manager (Female) that I need an oil change and that my gear shift was not going into park.

She advised that she can do the oil change which she offered me at 59.99, after taking 10 off (which was nice of her).

Regarding the gear shift, she would have a Tech do a diagnostic which will be 100.00, as I did not have an issue with that.

Fast Forward, the manager contacted me back and advised that I needed a gear shift assembly on a 2013 Nissan Altima, and quoted me a price of about 1799 to have it fixed. I advised that I will have another establishment fix the car.

Her tone then changed and I advised that I will have a tow truck come and pick up the vehicle and for them to place everything back.

She then tells me that they will not do that and that I will have to pay for him to assembly it.

I have no problem paying for what I owe but she should have been forthcoming with that information in the beginning.

My vehicle was then taken to the shop and it was fixed for WAY less of what she quoted me at Midas.

The now body shop is advising that some of the original parts are missing to the vehicle.

I called Midas and she said "No my tech did not see anything" now all of a sudden parts are missing.

I have pictures to prove how my vehicle looked leaving Midas.

I will never use this company again and I see now why ***/*** has a better market.

Desired Outcome

I should be given a refund of the monies that I spent at Midas due to misleading a customer and I need the missing parts of my vehicle to be paid for by Midas.

Midas Auto Service & Tires of Nashville Response

I talked to Mr. about his vehicle. I apologized about the situation. He is sending me the pictures of his car and going to get a list of the missing parts.
I gave him my cell number also.
