I am rejecting this response because:Midas is running a scam. Took my car to another licensed mechanic. There is no hole in the exhaust that made my car "FAIL" and had to pay for it anyway. however there was a piece of metal pulled off my car, that laid on my exhaust. and only could have been pulled down. SECONDLY, there was 2 quarts of oil added to my car, to "TRY" to blow all my gaskets. During my "inspection" on 8-5-16 my hood of my car should have never been up other than for a quick check, not for 30 mins. Nor should my tires been pulled off and now a whole was in one of them and had to replace, it was a slow leak thankfully. MIDAS has given me on going problems. They need shut down. There was nothing wrong with my car to "FAIL" an inspection. Yes my car is a 97 howver a very old woman had it, I am 100% positive she wasn't out joy riding and kept the car neat. And I just bought it in 7/16. And had the car completly looked over by 2 people. ANd three after the MIDAS event. I want my money back....

September 20, 2016This letter is in response to case ID #[redacted] in regards to a 97 [redacted]. That was brought into our shop On 8/5/2016 for a Pennsylvania State inspection and emission test. The car mentioned above was first emission tested and passed and was issued a state emission sticker. After...

that the vehicle was state safety inspected as per guidelines of the State of Pennsylvania. The inspection found that there was a rusted out hole in her exhaust pipe that needed repaired. Also the state requires us to recommend anything that is starting to go bad that would need replaced by next inspection. During the inspection our tech found that the left front cv axle was leaking grease and the sway bar fram bushing were starting to show signs of dry rot and movement of the sway bar these 2 items were recommended to the customer. The only repair that was need for the car to receive her state inspection sticker was a cut and weld on the exhaust which was a cost of 100.93 + sales tax this item was declined from the customer. As per Pennsylvania State inspection laws you are responsible to pay the inspection fee wither you pass or fail that is nonrefundable and we are declining refunding this amount. Our company strives on being fair and honest. At no time was this vehicle damage by anyone while in our possession. At all times the vech was in view of the customer and at no time was there any comments or concerns brought to our attention. Our company is not going to refund or pay for any repairs to this customers car due to the fact at no time did we damage or violate any state inspection guidelines by The State of Pennsylvania. If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to call us to discuss this matter further but we are now considering this matter closed. Thank You for your time.David Z.Store Manager
