I have received the complaint from this customer, after reviewing all the paperwork signed by the customer, I believe Midas performed what it was asked to perform which was an exhaust inspection and a courtesy checkWe did inform the customer of the check engine light and the poor running of the engine as evidenced by the copy of the courtesy checkThe customer wanted the exhaust to be replaced and authorized such as evidenced by the attached repair order and the signature from the customerThe customer was repeatedly warned about the engine issues and was given an estimate to address the issues but made the decision to not have that performed

We have been trying to gather information on this complaint since there was so little to go onThe customer is alledging that we topped off his brake master cylinder when the vehicle was last in our shop in February Firstly Midas never tops off low brake fluid unless a complete brake
inspection has been completed (which it was not, the vehicle was in for cooling system work)Low brake fluid is always caused by either a leak or worn brake linings, therefore to top off fluid without inspection is dangerousSecondly any contamination of brake fluid causes brake failure in minutes or hours, Petroleum contamination of brake rubber parts turns them almost immediately to jelly, The customers failure occurred months later. Finally this customer has never contacted us until this time, his brakes were repaired by this other shop in October 2016, there is no way we are responsible for his vehicle months after last seeing it and months since we last performed any brake work
