Hello Dear Revdex.com Like you I have looked in to this company as you have and believe that this problbly is not a REAL Charity and did
find numerous disputes and other deals that did not work out well for the consumer but did for Mr *** that being agreed upon I looked at all paper work for this License plate and talked to the tech who checked out the car
and the events leading up to this battery purchase And this is what happened a Person Named *** from *** is here working for a vineyard and walked in to our Midas store and stated he wanted to purchase a new battery and asked if we could install it we gave him a price he said no problem he would go get the money he returned and paid Midas to install we have been paid for this service and the customer left and came back did some thing under the hood of his car and came and asked for help Our tech stated he would need to get a signed work order and needs to perform a diagnostic tests on car and then This Customer Named *** stated he did not want to spend any money on car it was not his car and it was a rental I questioned that because I have never seen a rental car in service from the 1990s still in service That being said he told Midas that he was calling the rental car company and was telling them that he wanted to return the car because it would only crank over but would not run the customer then left and left the car here at Midas and said he was not coming back and that he was going to rent a car from enterprise car rental Then some one from Charity Car Rental called and asked us what we charged to check out there car And I asked what kind of car it was and told me that it was a dl Volvo I told him that it cranks over fine but wont run and we told him it would cost to check out he scoffed at that stating he has been in the car industry and that our is to high priced I told him if he want us to check it out I would e mail him a invoice for approval and he said ok I told him he would have to
reply with yes and asked how long it would take I told him we would start right away he said he would reply with yes I took this man at his word which seems to be worth absolutely nothing as he called the store in the late afternoon and stated he had changed his mind and want to tow the car even after he told us to check the car out he then stated that that he did not authorize any check out time and told me to check my e mail at this time he then stated he wanted to pay nothing pand wanted a refund for a battery he did not pay pay us for after listening to this man I told him that he had gone back on his word and I told him how I felt about his not keeping his word and I really believe he did that on purpose and instead of just calling us back when we had a mutual understanding is not fair I feel he took advantage of me and my technician and that is when I told him we where not going to charge him at all for the time we spent on his car and I told I did not want his money or his business and I told him I did not want his car on my property and if it was still here at close of business day I would put in the street as I have no legal right to have his car I don't want on my property which is my legal right When he broke his word he broke his promise we cant trust customers like this and we refuse to to do any type of repair for this customer and we have blocked him from doing business at this location if he shows up we will call the Police and have him escorted off the property as for his battery he has to find his customer and talk to him him about this Mr *** is not a customer and has not made a purchasea thing from this store he did not purchase the battery from this Midas his customer did and we are not refunding the purchase of a battery to a customer that did not purchase it from us
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/09/11) */
Complaint was not resolvedAn arrogant inappropriate response was given questioning the validity of our charity and refusing to allow us to return the battery even though I have the original receiptI can assure you our charity is real and we were the owners of the vehicleIf the business owner would made the effort to contact me either by phone (I provided our number) or in writing we could have resolved thisInstead the employee that caused the initial complaint was allowed to provide the negative responseWe will not allow this complaint to close until we receive a real apology from the owner and are refunded the purchase amount for the battery when we return it with the original receipt!
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/09/14) */
This is a duplicate compliant this customer has already filed a compliant at a Midas in Napa Ca
regarding this same issue we have closed our case with this person as Mr *** was never a customer at either store
Thank you

Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 23, 2015/11/17) */
[redacted] from Midas in Napa Valley asked if I would be willing to compromise and agree to receive half of this payment for the amount of $887 which I agreed to. He said I would receive his check by September 25, 2015. Mr. [redacted] then wrote back and said the date was October 25, 2015. As of today, November 8, 2015, I have not received his funds. I plan to also send this information to Midas Corporate as they have opened a file.

Store Manager spoke to Ms [redacted] and carefully explained that our process was explained to to her
and gave her a estimate for repairs...

that she requested And she approved prior to repairs beginning and she signed our estimate and work was completed We do not change price on any repair and in this case we did not go obove our estimate She has repeatedly calle our store and weexplained just because some can do the job cheaper doesn't mean we price match We are truly sorry that she feels this way how ever if she was loking to shop price this is something that should have been done prior to approving these repair Midas now considers this mater closed
