My year old mother took her Mitsubishi vehicle to Midas for a water leakThey told her it would cost $to fix it properlyDue to the age of the vehicle, my mother stated it would probably be better to sell the vehicle and buy anotherAlmost immediately, they had a buyer who offered $for the vehicleAn hour later, my mother gave the title to the assistant manager and the assistant manager gave her the $I heard about this right after lunch and went to Midas to stop this transaction and to get the title back and to get the vehicle fixedThey would not contact the buyer for me and they would not offer his number or contact informationI went back days later to have the Vehicle Transfer Notification and Bill Of Sale signed by buyer and they reluctantly gave me a phone number and then asked us to leave the storeThe managers told me that they had done business with this gentleman before and it sounds like Midas is in the business of buying and selling cars through a third partyThis sounds unethical and definitely a conflict of interest

Robert Jeffrey Wagoner brought his vehicle back to Tom Peacock [redacted] to repair his radio and we found his vehicle had a leak in the trunk area that shorted out his radio amplifier We are working with his insurance company to cover this repair Sincerely, Steven ** [redacted] General ManagerTom Peacock [redacted]

BBB, After speaking with the customer and reassessing the vehicle we worked with the customer to resolve this issue on the 18th of February 2015. We agreed on a resolution that was proposed by the customer offering a significant refund. This proposal was proposed by the customer... and accepted by the customer. Therefore, this matter is considered closed and 100% resolved.Sincerely, Nicholas W [redacted] President: [redacted] Auto Repair Inc

On Dec ** *** brought his *** in to our shop,
first time we have the vehicle in for the key recall and for us to check his
remotes only one was working the other not
He also asked our advisor Don *** if could set the time on
the radio, Don attempted to find the time set on the radio, which also serves
as the Information Center, AVG MPG, oil life, etc, Don was pressing the
buttons and couldn’t remember how to navigate to that area so he asked the
technician to set the time, which he said he did.
We completed the campaign, ** *** declined the repair to
replace the non-working remote and we had the car washed and brought up
When ** *** went to his car the radio/information center
was powered up but there was no volume
We did nothing to cause this and initially declined
responsibility
*** *** called me and I told him to come in and lets see
what the situation is
** *** came back the next day Dec and We sent the car
back to the tech, he used the TECH II diagnostic tool and we could make
the system chime so we knew we had power from the amplifier so the radio part
of the system had failed
We did nothing to cause this and did not know why his radio
failed, but all we did was press the buttons just like he was doing to try and
set the clock
We offered to cover the labor as a goodwill gesture if he
purchased the radio. He declined and contacted the Revdex.com
At that point even though we did nothing wrong we agreed to
cover the replacement of the radio, so we told *** *** we would order it and
contact him when it came in
On Dec 22nd *** *** brought his vehicle in, we
put him in a *** loaner
When the technician installed the radio/information center it
would not work at all
When he went to check the amplifier in the trunk he found it
sitting in bunch of water. There is a severe water leak in *** ***s
trunk. We asked *** *** about recent body work as it is evident that
area of the quarter panel had been repaired and that is the source of the leak,
and why the amplifier is now inop and the reason the radio most likely
failed. *** *** contacted his insurance company, the adjuster came out
and we showed the insurance adjuster the quarter panel repair and where it is
leaking water into the amplifier area
After several weeks of no decision from *** ***s
insurance company, or *** *** authorizing the repair of the quarter panel
repair to stop the water leak so the amplifier can be replaced we asked *** *** on Jan 16th to bring back our loaner until he gets this resolved
Which he did. We told ** *** that we didn’t believe we
caused the radio to fail initially and now with the amplifier sitting in
water in a failed condition that is most likely why his radio failed. We
told *** *** we would still honor our part in replacing the radio at no
charge to him and we gave him the radio and cautioned him not to have someone
else install it he had the amplifier fixed and if his insurance company covers
the repairs we would appreciate if the would also cover the $radio as
well
So *** *** has the radio but he still is working to find
out if his insurance company will cover or correct the quarter panel repair,
and amplifier replacement

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
Sent: Sunday, January 11, 9:AM To: drteam Subject: Re: You have a New Message from Revdex.com Regarding Complaint #*** From: *** *** To: Revdex.com/metropolitan Houston Re: Complaint # *** Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, In response to your Jan message, I am informing you that the issue which formed the basis of my complaint has not yet been resolved Specifically, as stated in the company's response message, I took my car back to the company to have them repair my radio and they had me contact my insurance company about fixing a leak that shorted out the amplifier The car is still in the shop and I have not been told whether either the amplifier or the radio has been fixed I will update you as soon as they get back to me
Regards,

I have reread my initial response I stand 110% behind my initial response as being accurate. There was a waiting room of customers that witnessed this and would agree with my account. [redacted] stated that the tire pressure has since been resolved so there is nothing that I can do.
As for the rude comments, that is highly inaccurate. I only began push back until well into the conversation where I wasn’t even allowed to finish my statement/comments. As the tire pressure and Rotation was free service of the coupon, you could argue that there has already been a refund since $0 was paid for the tire pressure and therefore, $0 was refunded. This young woman was not treated poorly, the evidence is the fact that of the waiting room of customers at that time (the place was full), and zero of those customers got up took their car while she was there or after she left. This is clear evidence that I was not out of line, nor was I initially anything but cordial.
[redacted] did complain to corporate and was responded to by me. During this conversation, which she claims that I was rude, the same thing happened. I was again consistently interrupted during the conversation and was not allowed to even discuss the matter. However, by then her tire pressure issue had been taken care of and was a moot point.

Robert Jeffrey Wagoner brought his vehicle back to Tom Peacock [redacted] to repair his radio and we found his vehicle had a leak in the trunk area that shorted out his radio amplifier.
We are working with his insurance company to cover this repair.

Sincerely,

My 79 year old mother took her 2001 Mitsubishi vehicle to Midas for a water leak. They told her it would cost $852.00 to fix it properly. Due to the age of the vehicle, my mother stated it would probably be better to sell the vehicle and buy another. Almost immediately, they had a buyer who offered $500.00 for the vehicle. An hour later, my mother gave the title to the assistant manager and the assistant manager gave her the $500.00. I heard about this right after lunch and went to Midas to stop this transaction and to get the title back and to get the vehicle fixed. They would not contact the buyer for me and they would not offer his number or contact information. I went back 2 days later to have the Vehicle Transfer Notification and Bill Of Sale signed by buyer and they reluctantly gave me a phone number and then asked us to leave the store. The managers told me that they had done business with this gentleman before and it sounds like Midas is in the business of buying and selling cars through a third party. This sounds unethical and definitely a conflict of interest.

10/31/15As I was the gentlemen she delt with after the initial service all I can say is the following:She came in to the shop on a Saturday in which we were running a 3 hr wait time for service and immediately started being rude and unruly. She would not even allow me to finish my...

statements. When customers come back or have a tire pressure I pretty much say the same basic thing and it goes something like this...' The tire pressure light can be on for a number of reasons, too much air, too little air, you may have to drive it first, or the sensor could be bad. .."This is almost ALWAYS followed with, "pull on up to the bay and someone will be out to check the pressure and put air in if necessary." I was not even allowed to finish my statement without her yelling about how she knew about her car and how we tried to kill her and this and that. Then she pulled the" I'm a female"...as a son, a brother, and a husband, nothing insults me more and makes we want to immediately refuse service. Since she continued her rude and belligerent behavior ! informed her to have a seat and we will be with her when we can. There were a number of witnesses in my waiting room at the time and I asked them if I was out of line after she left and they all told me that I was not and that she was rude. As for her desired outcome, my response is definitely not.
Sincerely,
Nicholas W.

Review: I had work done to my 1999 [redacted],to solve a check engine light problem,I was told that my plugs and spark plugs wires were bad, then after I replaced those parts,I was told that my coil packs were bad,I replaced them.Midas did the work.I found that certain parts were left off my car,as well some bolts,My car was still running erratic.I was told by the mechanic,Pep at this Midas, that my valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, and my alternator needed to be replaced.I was still wondering why they at Midas took the shield off my fuel injectors and wiring was taken off.No one at Midas could explain to me why it was removed,or where it was in their shop. The shop foreman,Mr.Roosevelt W[redacted],III.told me that they would find my missing parts,or replace them. No one at MIdas has contacted me.I found out that the wiring that connects to #3 Fuel injector is broken off will not clamp to the fuel injector, and it seems to be the problem at late.I feel that someone at Midas, either broke this on accident,or did this purposely to create more documented work to repair a problem that THEY Knew existed, and would cause a panic:i.e. More money out of my pocket. My 1999 [redacted],is my daily transportation, and it's MINE. Mr.W[redacted] and the mechanics at this Midas, have been paid good money ,but have given me slip shod service, and left parts off my car,and have broken parts in a attempt to secure more business (more money) out of me,the customer. My faith has been shaken,I have been ripped off,and treated less than a customer.Rather than pursuing legal proceedings against Midas. Bottom line: I want my car repaired.Desired Settlement: I would like a master mechanic (paid for by Midas),go over all the work that these mechanics did,or did not do,document his or her findings, access the prices for service of work according to Midas' price and all the work necessary to repair my car.I would like this Midas be instructed by their corporate offices proper business practices.I also like to be compensated for the prices of missing parts and damage to my car.I would like a written apology from Midas because of the pain and anguish of being a dissatisfied customer. I want my car fixed
