Re: Complaint from [redacted] ID# [redacted] Honda CRV 2004 AC Problem Date: 05/09/2014 Mr. [redacted] came in with Air Conditioner problem on his 2004 Honda CRV on May... 9, 2014. We found below problems on the A/C system. 1. The AC Control Switch was not working; 2. The Blower Resistor was not working; and 3. Found a broken wire. We informed Mr. [redacted] that a new AC Control Switch from the dealer will cost $599 and will take 2 days to get it because it will be a special order. We then informed him that A USED AC Control Switch was available at much lower price. He agreed to use the used switch AND a new blower resistor for $299. He signed the estimate agreeing the used part and the price. Mr. [redacted] was not charged for the labor to install the AC switch and the Resistor. We also repaired the broken wire at no charge. We charged him for diagnosing. The regular AC system diagnosing price is $78. However, the price increased to $210 because we needed to check the electrical problem inside the dash board and under the glove compartment. We explained that to Mr. [redacted] . He agreed to pay $210 for diagnosing and signed the revised estimate. When he picked up his car, he was happy with the repair work and the prices. He signed all documents and paid in full. A few days later, he called and asked for a refund of $297.77. He said that he can get the new AC switch on eBay for $41. We bought the used switch from a used parts vendor, not from eBay.

Dear Revdex.com:

I am grateful for your professional and kind work.  Mr. [redacted] is liar, I was NOT informed of the price of the new part or a used one.  I was the one who told him that he was a liar because he told me that a new part would cost me $700.00.  After I called him for the second time, he promised to give me three free oil changes and a 20% discount every time I come to his shop in the future.  I did not agree.  I told him to check the fuses and the resistor and told me that nothing was wrong with the "front" of the car, nor the resistor, nor the fuses.

Review: [redacted] (Manager of MIDAS in [redacted], Santa Ana, CA) lied to me and abuse my good faith. He replaced a used part that costs %50 and charged me $299.00 then recharged my AC even after saying that the problem was not in the front of the car but in the "inside" (AC control knobs). He then said that a new part cost $700, when I checked with Honda it is quoted at $599.00 He then screamed to me on the phone today.I told him three times to check the transistor and said "the problem is not in the front, nor the transistor" and the following day there were charges for both items. He said that it would be minor, even knowing that the broken part was the AC control system knobs. He said that he would call me, but he did not, he replaced the part and scared me saying that the new part was $700, and he charged me $299 for a used part when I checked the new part costs $599 and a used part costs $50I am requesting a refund of $297.77 which is half of what he charged me.Please help me out.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded for half the amount that he charged me$648.83 minus the oil change divided by half gives me $297.77He first charged me $78 for diagnosis, then he said "$210.00" because the problem was inside the car. This is in my head and I am extremely upset with this abuse. Please help me out[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Dear Revdex.com:

I am grateful for your professional and kind work. Mr. [redacted] is liar, I was NOT informed of the price of the new part or a used one. I was the one who told him that he was a liar because he told me that a new part would cost me $700.00. After I called him for the second time, he promised to give me three free oil changes and a 20% discount every time I come to his shop in the future. I did not agree. I told him to check the fuses and the resistor and told me that nothing was wrong with the "front" of the car, nor the resistor, nor the fuses.

He then made up that a "wire" was broken that "someone" had worked on the car before because a wire was broken. Mr. [redacted] is a liar and I will continue pursuing justice. I humbly ask you for your support.
