I went to Midas on august 21 2018 at 4:30 pm done at 5:16 the worker said in front of my witness that my vehicle needed a second gasket and he wouldn't charge me for it again . Secretary said you have to pay the gasket and if he not charging you the labor that's fine . I said I will bring it back next Thursday August 30 2018 . I called her back august 27 said I will come on the 28 of august she said ok I'll put it in for Tuesday . I got there the secretary wasn't there the manager said no way we are doing your truck for no labor and I'm going to bill you and your not in the system for repair I'm the manager he kept saying, *** .I said you didn't finish the job so no I'm not paying labor again when you should have finished the job the same day . He said they should have but your not getting away without labor and your not booked in I said yes I am booked in . Get the secretary on the phone as she wasn't on he said today and get the worker he refused . He completely refused to finish the job . I paid 106.00 as the gasket was more money as she ordered the wrong one at first which the bill said 100.42 she charged my credit card 106.00 , I also have a witness who heard the worker say no labor just bring it back as I don't believe that one gasket will do the job . It is allready making noise and gas fumes and my vehicle is running rough at the idling to which it didn't do before . Worker is tall bald head didn't say his name I believe she said *** but not certain . Secretary strawberry long blonde hair older woman . August 21 2018 at 4:30 pm truck was there and out at 5:16 pm. Today Tuesday august 28 I went there at 12:45 to 1 pm and the manager refused to do the unfinished work said my pipes are all bent up he never looked under or at my truck the worker didn't indicate that at all on the 21 of august he said the exhaust pipe is a little rotted and would require 2 gaskets he put one in didn't have another gasket so they ordered another gasket he said I won't charge you again just bring it back . Secretary said hold on you have to pay for the second gasket I said ok that's fair I will pay for the second gasket ,, I just paid for one plus labor but it needed 2 and now it's noisy idling rough and exhaust smell inside and out of vehicle I just want my money back and I will take it to another exhaust shop
since I felt *** by the manager and felt *** by his tone I want a full refund and I will take my vehicle to a different shop I have asked my credit card company to reverse the payment so they are going to try as they didn't finish the job after the treatment I got today there is no way I want to deal with this company to bring the vehicle back to them Obviously the Manager has no intention of repairing my vehicle on the conditions I was told by the worker on august 21/18 in front of my witness a coworker of mine , as well as the worker said it in front of the secretary .So I do want a full refund and I will go elsewhere or they can pay the shop I take it too. Note I have used this shop for previous vehicles since 1980 up until now as I noticed they had a very old telephone number at the top 38 years ago I had that number , so I was a client for that long brought several vehicles in over the years . I gave my cell for the owner of the shop to call me back to which I believe the manager would have tossed . The manager never even looked in the computer for my booking . So my refund is what I'm looking for and I will not do business with this company ever again nor will any family members use them either
I have heard back from *** the owner . *** advised me she has read the information I listed on the Revdex.com . *** said that her employees have said that it was not that way and I get that she was trying to acknowledge that, but I did interrupt her to let her know I also had a witness with me at the time of the incomplete work and that was the reason I had to return to Midas , rather than ordering the 2 gaskets one was the wrong gasket , I waited didn't mind to wait for the other gasket but it should have been 2 gaskets put in rather than one and clearly I uploaded both bills which have 2 part numbers the lesser priced bill was the wrong gasket , knowing at that time it was going to need 2 should have been done . In my opinion it was to re-bill labor to come back again when the job should have been done right the first time , this is why the employee said he wouldn't charge me again for labor , only for the gasket to which I get I would pay for the parts .
The Manager obviously doesn't listen to the employee , nor the customer .
Needless to say after I said I have a witness , *** said she was sorry and offered the refund to which it said on the email for work completed , but to which it was not , I accepted the refund and she said she does not tolerate this from her employees. I said it was totally her Manager to her . *** said next time it would or should have been in writing on the bill , I still would not have paid double labor when the job could have been completed that same time 1 labor charge , just didn't order 2 gaskets at the time .
Needless to say I am happy with the results that the Owner *** did return the money not that the money was the issue , it's the principle of how I was treated and trying to re-bill labor when totally the job could have been completed the same day . *** did apologize and *** was very professional courteous and nice to speak with .
