On January 2nd 2015 I woke up with burning, itchy and some swelling of my feet. My feet were red and I thought it was athletes foot, which I've never had before. The symptoms continued to worsen through out the day and feet wound up swollen an hot. Finally after trying ice and elevation with no improvement I couldn't get my feet in any shoes so I threw on flip flops at midnight I went to the ER(it was the only place open at that hour) at [redacted] hospital in Nashville. I was seen by a Physician from MTEP and she told me that it was just an allergic reaction and take some Benadryl. She wouldn't administer it to me at the hospital since I was driving. So I drive home and took Benadryl with no improvement. I went 3 more days with the issue and my feet were just getting worse. Finally my mom made me go to a walk in clinic where the Physician told me a definately had eczema but wanted me to go to a dermatologist. So he sent me to a Dermatologist who identified it as eczema with Immersion foot. He gave me Prednisone an foot cream. This finally got rid of it. And now, after being misdiagnosed by the Physician from MTEP, I still have to pay a $255 dollar bill on top of my $800 bill from the hospital. I tried to dispute the charge and they won't acknowledge my case.

I went to the MD TN emergency room on 4/30/16. I received my bill in June. I have made 3 payments (1 per month) June, Jul & August and they already sent me to collections even though I agreed to $25/month with them!!!! The debt collectors were very mean and nasty - - made me feel like a second class citizen. With healthcare the way it is today with high deductibles because no one can afford the premium. I have worked for the same healthcare company for 24 years and pay $700/month for my insurance and they made be feel awful because I owe so much money to doctors!
