Middletown Well Drilling Reviews (3)

Review: We purchased a new home in August of 2011. This home had a water well drilled by the Company in question. From the get go we had issues with the well specifically related to water quality and sediment in the water. The problem has forced us to buy numerous systems in order to alleviate the issue. We have had to install a sediment filter and water softener system to prevent the sand and sediment from entering our plumbed systems. Currently I have to clean our filter of sand and sediment daily just to be able to use the water in our home. This company has been completely unresponsive to either myself or the homebuilder. This is home to a family of five which includes three small children.Desired Settlement: I want the well driller to fix the issue or pay for another company to fix his problem. I have had a very tough time getting any licensed well driller to come and fix the problem left by this company. I believe the well driller needs to pay for this problem.

Review: On Friday October 11th 2013, Middletown Well Drilling was called to inspect and repair our well water system as we weren't receiving water from anywhere in the house. A two man crew arrived within a few hours of calling and began to assess the problem. It was found that our pressure tank and switch were in need of replacement. The two man crew left to attend another job while waiting on a tank to be brought to them. The men later returned replacing the tank and switch and were able to get our water running. They also replaced a the old well cap. The two met did a great job, but couldn't offer me any estimate on the price or charge for services. They were exclusive about a price only coming from their boss. About a week later a man named Dave called my fiance with telling her the price was approximately $1,250.00. She questioned why the amount was so much for the tank, switch, well cap, and labor. She stated to me that the guy on the phone couldn't give her any solid prices and sounded like he was dismissing her questions. I later that day contacted the business and left a voicemail after no answer. I was later contacted by Dave from the business who wanted to know what the problem was. I explained to him that I believed the price was to steep and asked for a break down of the charges. I was told there was a destination charge, labor of the two men, list prices of the replacement items. For someone who works in the field he sounded very unsure of the prices of the replacement equipment and stated he had to look them up. He didn't sound solid. However, after some conversation I gave him the model number and told him I had researched the prices of the tank they installed. He said the wrong tank size was written down and he'd call me back with the right price. When he called me back he apologized, and gave me a new price of the tank, which was still a significant mark up, and stated that he felt bad and brought everything down to $1,000.00 even. I was still unsure of how the charges were applied. I told him that I would have the check in the mailbox for him to pick up since no one would be home the next day. He was asked to leave an itemized receipt of the the parts and service when picking up the check. He never did, and the check has since been cashed.Desired Settlement: I would like a detailed to receipt of the charges for the parts and services that day. I also believe that there isn't really a set standard for labor and parts, and that prices are given to customers on an case estimated basis.

Review: I hired [redacted] at Middletown Well Drilling to examine and fix my well. He arrived with a two man crew and "attempted" to get my well pump out of the well. He said that it was impossible to do, because the pipe leading to the well was steal. If the pipe was PVC he would be able to complete the job that day. He told me that I would need to hire a larger crew and rent a crane to get the pump out of the well. He then charged me $450, which I paid that day with a check, although they didn't do any work.

I hired another company to get a second opinion. Between the contractor and I, we pulled the PVC pipe out by hand. Middletown Well Pump ripped me off in a very obvious way. I called to confront the contractor about his work and he couldn't give me any answers. He refused to refund me my money.Desired Settlement: Refund of $450 for non-work and misinformation.
