We had midland glass install a front and back door in our house. We began to have problems with them freezing up, midland was contacted and eventually someone was sent out to look at them, he blamed the high humidity levels on the problem. That week we bought a humidity meter, it read 25% which is low. We had another door put into our garage and requested that at the same time they look at our doors. The employee was extremely rude and blamed it on our inexperience of owning a home (which is actually our third house). [redacted] was contacted about this and was told his employee was no longer allowed in our house. He told us he would personally come look at it when he had time. He was contacted after that numerous times and either never answered or returned any phone calls. Since then our floor at our back door began to bubble. A carpenter was hired and he found that no sealant was used under the door and you could stick a screw driver through to the outside. This allowed for water to get in under the door and water logging the subfloor. The door also had no insulation around it. The floor in the kitchen now needs replacing. The door in front is also falling apart and doesn't seal properly. [redacted]. This door was inspected and we noticed that it was built using scraps from other doors and has a hole drilled where a door latch would normally go at the very top, that would fill with moisture causing the door to swell and leak down into the window.Product_Or_Service: Doors and windows installedDesired SettlementDoors to be replaced and installed by a third party company. Business Response Midland Glass checked the complainants doors in the winter of 2013 and couldn't find what what was causing the problem except possible high humidity. In April of 2013 we installed another door and again looked at the problem door. After that I ordered a new door slab to replace the door slab that was causing the problem. It was after I had the door slab ordered that the complainant said my most experienced installer was not allowed back at the house. I did say I would come out and look at it. I tried numerous times to get a hold of the complainant but was never able to connect with them over the summer months of 2013. [redacted]. [redacted] this spring I tried to contact him a few different times and the calls were never answered, nor returned. As for our doors, we buy the door slabs, door framing material and all other components from our suppliers. We then assemble everything in our shop. That way we can custom size to fit exactly in the customer's house without them changing existing structure. We have been doing this for more than ten years and have never run into problems like this. We have had many repeat customers over the years, so the problems the complainant has listed are hard to understand. We are willing to cooperate to a reasonable point. We realize this has dragged out way too long. The most experienced installer midland glass is the one who didn't install the doors properly in the first place. As of right now the 1276.50 is significantly lower than my cost to replace the two doors with new one as well as the flooring the was damaged because of poor installation.
