I am writing in response to complaint ID # ***.We, the management of Chili Commons would like all of our residents to enjoy living at our apartment complex, and we try to resolve any issues we canThere are however, somethings we cannot controlWe cannot tell our residents they cannot smoke
outdoors or in their own TownhouseI spoke with Mr*** and asked how he thought the smoke smell was getting into his townhouseHe did not knowI told him that when the furnace and a/ c was replaced about years ago, as part of an energy reduction program, the block firewall between his townhouse and his neighbors was air sealedIn two follow up phone calls I left messages for Mr.*** asking if I could come and inspect his townhouse to see if I could see if I could find anyway air could leak between these townhousesWhen he responds, and if I can find anything we will take corrective measures.When I was speaking with Mr*** I asked what he would like us to do to help him with this problemHe said he would like us to buy him a "Honeywell heppa air filter from***"I do not feel it is a reasonable request to expect the landlord to purchase this filter for him.David ** ***, CPMMidland Management,
