We hired Midland Siding to removed the original clapboards and replace with ***, and build a new deck off the kitchenLet me start this out by saying, we are extremely picky about our contractorsWe have been renovating our victorian for the past years, in those years I have learned some tips of separating the good contractors from the badWhen *** came for the initial consultation he knocked our socks offWe've all been there for quotes/meeting a contractor; and you fairly quickly determine if the contractor is there strictly for a paycheck, or if this is their passion*** spoke longer about ideas and his excitement for redoing the exterior of our house than he did about costs and payment; I could tell his priorities were in the right placeHe had passion for the project and a care for respecting the history of our house; this wasn't going to be just another routine job for himThroughout our renovation of this house, nothing has been simpleThis house was built before codes (and it seems like standards) even existedThere has been surprise, after surprise, after surprise with this placeThis wasn't going to be a cut and dry job for ***, we were all unsure what we would find under the original siding but *** had a back up plan for his back up plan and never seemed intimidatedAs stewards to this amazing piece of history, hiring *** was the very best thing we could do for this house
We obtained a renovation loan to finance this projectThe loan contained quite a bit of red tape, that required both us and *** to jump through quite a number of hoopsI can tell you one thing: we were very frustrated with the process on the banks endIt grew tiring very fast***, on the other hand, was cool as a cucumber throughout the whole processHe drove from Omaha to Fremont several times to sign various paperwork, sometime to times after the underwriters made various changesIf he ever was frustrated, he never let us once know it, and treated us with the utmost respect and patience
He promised us in the beginning that he wouldn't be done until we were happyAt the time, it is easy to take that as a typical contractor line, but he deliveredTime and time again, he proved that he was willing to take any of my dream visions and make them a realityOne scorching hot July day, he lost an entire day's work because I was hoping to have the ceiling height higher on our back porchAt first glance, he explained that it had to be that height due to the nature of the structure, but even as he spoke you could see his mind analyzing the situationI didnt press the issue and understood where he was coming fromHowever, he could see that I was disappointed, and instead of moving on and calling it good enough, he tore the whole thing down, consulted with the city inspector, and built a beautiful structure, even better than my imagination had created
Going into this project, we knew it was going to be expensive well before we contacted ***I think a lot of contractors have issues accurately quoting a jobThis is a very undervalued skillWe've had contractors under quote us in the past and come back asking for more money, or making us feel guilty that the job required more work than they anticipatedThis was an expensive job, but ***'s experience and method allowed us to obtain the money needed, and never look backHe didn't nickel and dime us to death, or complain about the amount of workFinances were handled up front, and were nothing more than an afterthought from that point on
This was a big job, that would require a very experienced contractor to do it rightThat, combined with our expectations that the work keep the house's integrity, made the requirement for a contractor someone basically straight out of "This Old House." *** is that man, and he was our *** ***If we ever have a project close to this size, we would be blessed to have *** againThank you ***, for all your hard work and dedication to our projectWe are beyond thrilled with the final product!

Midlands Siding & Windows installed my new windows and gutters They were great!! *** and *** were very professional and knew what they were doing From the first window to the 9th window look great The gutters were exactly what I wanted as wellI also appreciated how careful they were with my property including my landscaping I am so happy I hired them there were no surprises on any work that was done They stated no payment until completed and that is what happened I am so excited that I hired them because for sure it was the right choice Thanks Midland Siding *** & *** - ***

As a general contractor, *** basically had two jobs Order the correct windows in the correct sizes He actually had two shots to get this right, and failed both times
I asked for*** windows so I could take advantage of current tax incentives I got*** windows but NOT for the region or state I live in which is useless To me this is either fraudulent or incompetent Neither of which are good for a contractor Of course, the *** component that he touts on his website and in person was not listed on the contract, so I have no recourse
This compounded by months of dealing with his unprofessionalism really leaves me wondering how he has been in business so long Here a few highlights: showing up early on a Saturday morning while the job is not even half completed and demanding a partial payment Showing up and borrowing my 6ft ladder to do a "thorough" inspection on my two story house Leaving me to reinstall my outdoor electrical outlets, redo the plumbing on my furnace intake/exhaust, and reinstall my dryer vent Waiting months for a crank to be installed so I could actually open my new window Recommending that I leave the plastic wrap on new windows from June until September when the house got painted Touting how he stains all the windows he installs in his own shop, then complaining that his subcontractor is taking too long to stain them Just to name a few
The only saving grace is that the siding subcontractors did a spectacular job Had they not done such great work, this entire project would have been a nightmare

My family has used Midland's siding for multiple jobs over the years and always been very pleased. Today, [redacted] came out to my house to investigate a roof leak and repaired three areas of siding that had come loose and he told me today was free of charge! We are definitely going to have him come back for the roof. Knowledgeable, friendly, and honest! Would recommend!

We had a great experience with Midlands, they worked well with us and our insurance the people are very friendly and have great customer service. They work very efficient and we will defiantly use them again in the future and are very pleased with our new roof and would highly recommend them!
