I do not fault tow/repossession companies because it's the debtor's responsibility to pay their bills and the right of the loan company to collect their property should they fail to do so. That being said, I feel like this company is rude and inconsiderate and would not recommend them for hire. My family has had a very hard year- money-wise, health-wise, job-wise and our finance company repossessed our car. Completely our fault. What wasn't our fault is the company towing it on a Sunday, being closed on Sunday (or not answering their phone) and leaving us without our car seats for our 2 and 3-year olds. Since they did not return our phone call, my husband (who commutes) had to take off work because, not only could we not take our kids to church on Sunday, we couldn't take them to daycare on Monday without the seats. We called again a few times the next day. Whomever they have answering their phones was probably the rudest woman I have ever talked to and ended up hanging up the phone on me. I was in tears leaving the voicemail for them and in tears when I actually reached them. Now, I do realize that these employees do have to deal with a lot of verbal abuse from irate customers, but I have just two questions. What fear or lack of humanity keeps them from contacting the debtor to get out the car seats out of the vehicle before it's towed (especially knowing that it will be days before them getting them back)? We would have made it even easier on them and given them the keys! We know it's our fault, but don't punish my kids and ruin their days too. Lastly, are they so jaded by their jobs that they shield themselves from any compassion towards their customers? Why is it necessary to be nasty when the person on the other end of the line is being nice- just wanting to get this resolved? I can't imagine anyone ever having a pleasant repossession story, but I promise that my entire business and personal network will know this story and the name of this company.
