This person purchased a *** from a 3rd party seller (not me directly) in Connecticut on 3/6/that had one of our batteries in itHe called me and wanted me to warranty the batteryWhen he told me he was in Michigan, I gave him the name of several different places in
his area that could help him determine if the battery was no good or just needed a rechargeI explained to him that the battery had a one year free replacement since it is a seasonal product and does not get used for long periods of time. He then said that he had been having trouble with the battery all last year, so I asked if he had tried to get the battery looked at locally; however, he completely avoided my question and kept changing the subject. I gave him the name and number of a local distributor miles from his house that he could talk to, but he said he wanted someone closerI explained that the representative for that local distributor was the best person to talk to, and that he could help him out (I also gave him the name and phone number of that representative)He then began ranting aggressively on the phone about us not taking care of our product even though I had gone well out of my way to find him more than one place to take care of the issue (even though I still have no idea if the battery is really bad or not)After being on the phone with the man for more than minutes explaining who to speak to locally for help, I told him that I couldn't do anything else for him since we are miles awayHe continued to scream at me on the phone as I tried to explain several times that I had given him places to go to (including exact cross-streets, complete addresses and phone numbers) that would assist him, including a regional salesman (not just a counter guy at a local store)We received no more calls from him the rest of the day and we had no messages in any of our voicemails today

I tried explaining to the Mid State rep on the phone that had taken the battery to a company near my house... It happened to be a company named "Battery Giant" that when I talked to the Mid State rep on the phone and told them [redacted] said the battery was junk, I told the Mid State rep on the phone, they said the battery was only putting out 6 volts and due it was a maintanence free battery they couldn't check to see if it had bad cells. they then said there was nothing else they could do with it...... I then called the person that the rep from Mid State said to call 10 miles from "my house" Ironically it was another [redacted]. After apx 15 calls, all I could get was a voice message, after that it would just ring, nobody ever answered the phone.... What kind of a business does that?? What kind of business hangs up on their customers... I think in my life time only MID STATE BATTERY... I tried calling the person they recommended and could never get through... I went to a [redacted] nearer my house they said it was junk... I then went to an AUTOZONE near my house, they said the battery was Junk....
In the morning I am going to call where I purchased the $20,000.00 dinghy (defender.com) and complain to them the type of company they are dealing with and how they treat thier customers. Maybe if enough people like me complain and are stuck with a product like I did... Maybe they will change suppliers. I can only hope, as it doesn't sound like MID STATE is a reputable enough of a company.
Thanks

Review: I purchased a [redacted] from a company in CT. 3-13 that came with a mid state marine battery... I had multiple problems with it last year, used the dinghy from april to Oct. of 2013, put the dinghy away for the winter, the battery in the basement, charged it this spring, went to use it and the charger said it was bad. took it to the local [redacted] in my area that said the battery was no good. Made a phone call to them today 5-6-14 at ###-###-####, the person on the phone made all kinds of excuses why I should take it to a different [redacted] (apx 5 miles from the one I did) When they answered the phone and I asked for the person MSB told me to talk to it went straight to voice mail, finally they wouldn't answer the phone. So even though you can't use the battery in a boat in Mich. a full year. MSB tells me the marine battery I have is only good for one year. When I started to explain to the person on the other end of the phone (sorry don't have a name) as the person got short with me and hung up the phone. I think this is poor way to run a business and poor business mannerism... I would like a refund, or exchange the battery for a good one.Desired Settlement: Refund or replacement I don't care.. I think hanging up on a customer is shody business behavior.
