Review: Upon arriving for my appt, I was informe the clinic now requires a credit card to be on file for any procedures that cannot be billed to an insurance company. Typically I would not have a concern with this, but you are a patient cannot pay a co-pay with a credit card it MUST be cash and requiring a credit card equals the patient manually writing the card # on a piece of paper. I was not comfortable giving my CC# in this fashion. Swiping perhaps, but hand written with all the fraud no comfortable. I asked if I could speak to the Dr. about this and the receptionist said No. I said I was not comfortable providing hand written # and asked for my co-pay back. When I was getting my cash back I gave the receptionist back five $1 so I in turn could have my two $20 back. She said I threw the money at her. I apologized and said no, I'm sorry I didn't to which she raised her voice and said 'yes you did'. Not getting into it and for the inconvenience of takingtime off work, I asked again for my money back and left saying 'have a great day ladies'. To which there was heckeling and cursing as I walked out the door. If this is a new policy and new practice, it would be nice to 1) know about at the time when making the appt and/or 2) accept credit card co-pays so you have CC# on file. I have been seeing the Dr. for over 7 years and to loose a patient over a rude receptionist is really unfortunate.Desired Settlement: Follow-up letter and/or call directly from my [redacted], whom I have over a 5-7 year relationship with. There was no need for the conversation by the receptionist to escalate. I was there and understand policy, but not to be able to speak with the Dr. during my appt about the matter was really unacceptable.
