called Accent in April of 2016 for an estimate Joe R[redacted] went to her residence and provided a bid for the interior damage. She asked Joe if he would look at the roof jacks and Joe told her that they needed sealed and they actually were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. She only wanted to seal them, (April 2016). Joe told her that Accent does not do those type of repairs because of the potential liability for leaks when the jacks all should have been replaced. She asked if [redacted] the painter that did the interior work in 2010 still worked with us and Joe said yes. She said that she would call him for her repairs direct. Joe told her that she could ask [redacted] if he could find someone to seal the vents whenever she would see him. So, she called [redacted] (not Accent) to do some work for her and at that time asked [redacted] to have someone seal the roof jacks. She paid [redacted] direct $ 175 for that work. [redacted] is a subcontractor that works for Accent and several other companies doing mostly painting and trim work. She mad a dummy invoice to pay [redacted] (not Accent) and yet she wrote Accent Construction's name on the top. [redacted] did not provide and invoice nor did she contract Accent to do any work for her since 2010. Accent Construction has no involvement in this matter nor has Accent been paid for anything since the interior work in 2010.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. I feel that Joe R[redacted] was dishonest in sending [redacted] to my home knowing he was not a roofer and could not properly seal my vents. I spoke with [redacted] at [redacted] who states there was no other problems with the roof besides needing to.seal the vents by caulking. I was not notified when [redacted] went on the roof that anything was wrong other that needing to be sealed. Joe R[redacted] also did not share anything about not previously doing the roof. He only stated the warranty only lasts for 5 years. When asking about checking paperwork, he stated they only keep records for that long. They would not have any documents from then. I feel that because of him not providing information and sending out someone who is not qualified to do the job, I should be reimbursed the $175.00.
