Midwest Autoworx Reviews (5)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find this rwsponse a step towards resolution I did find two voicemails on my phone yesterday that I had not seen, asking me to return the business's call However, his matter is far from resolved Sincerely, [redacted] ***

RESPONSE: ** ** had his Volvo xctowed to Midwest Autoworx on Jan 1/09/to have a lock cylinder replaced after calling every other shop in town and being declined to attempt the repairWe inspected the car and found that the steering column covers were removed and that the interlock cable
to the transmission shifter was altered by ** ** so that he could get the car out of park with out turning the key that was locked up in the columnWe ordered the parts and replaced the lock cylinder as agreed upon and the key turned fine but the car would not come out of gear now, the cable had been damaged by ** ** trying to save money on a flat bed towWe called the customer explained that he had broken the cable and it would need replaced for the car to come out of park, he agreed to the repairParts were ordered and replaced, the technician drove the car and it worked perfectlyAbout two weeks later ** ** comes in to our shop wanting us to pay for an adjustment on the new cable performed at another repair shop blocks awayWe asked why he had not called us about the problem with the shift interlock cable and he said he did not know it had a problem, the car came out of park fine and the key worked fine but he had other problems with the engine on the car and had back to his regular repair shopThe tech there noted that the shifter could be taken out of gear with out turning the key on which is a theft deterent device, they asked ** ** and he told them to fix it even though he knew we had just replaced the cableHe came to us wanting a refunding on the $dollars that he paid *** *** to adjust with out ever giving us a chance to perform the warranty adjustmentI tried to explain that we would have made the adjustment at no charge and that we have the best warranty in town, years or 36k miles but he kept saying he could not get the car to usI spoke with *** *** about the car and he said the customer drove it to his shop blocks away and that he would have sent him back to us if he had known that we did the cable replacementHe assumed ** ** had to tow the Vehicle miles to the Volvo dealer for the repair it would not want to drive it that far for an adjustmentI finally relented to the customer and paid him the $dollars he requested and am shocked now to see that he wants more!! We saved ** ** hundreds of dollars in repairs by doing them locally and he didn't even give us the respect or courtesy to make a simple adjustment on a complicated repair under our warranty policy, I will be sure to warn *** *** Service about his ethics. Please let me know if you need further information such as a copy of the parts invoice to show the purchase of the cable! Thanks *** *** President of Midwest Autoworx Inc

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I did not cash the refund checkBecause I think if I cash the check, it will conclude I accept the business responseThe key point of my complains is that the business lied to me that they fixed the cable problemThe truth is that they did not fix it and left the problem as isThe cable was not inserted into the lock and the length was not adjusted, which led my car at a dangerous situation: it still can shift without key inI am complaining the business is not honest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
*** **
