Midwest Center for Women's Health Reviews (1)

I came to the center as a previous patient who had had one, maybe two, yearly examsI called them experiencing very heavy, abbleeding and severe painWhen I came into the office, the nurse did a pregnancy test (negative), I had an exam(no answers), and I was told to come back tomorrow for an ultrasoundI came back for the ultrasound, and was told I needed to have a procedure to inflate the uterus and look insideThe procedure was extremely painfulThey had to redo it three times because the first two times they did it wrongThe light in the room was broken and kept falling downI had to dig my teeth into my hand to keep from screaming because it hurt so badWhen it was done, they brought me into the office room where the doctor proceeded to tell me that they had found nothingThey knew nothing moreShe described my uterus as a jelly sandwich and then told me to restThe entire interaction lasted roughly secondsWhen I got home, I discovered that they should have performed a biopsy during the procedureI also discovered an article stating that "This test should not be performed if you have pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or have unexplained vaginal bleeding." I had unexplained vaginal bleedingThey performed the test anywayThe website this can be found at is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003404.htm
A month later I received a bill in the mail stating that the test I had was billed as TWO tests: hysterosalpingogram and hysterosalpinographyTogether they cost $My insurance only picked up a portion of everything, and my entire copay was just under $When I called to question the bill, the lady became quite angry with me and said that I needed to calm down and let the doctors do what they do(I was very calmShe treated me like a toddler.)
Two weeks later, I received a certified letter in the mail essentially "firing me" from their practiceFor no other reason than I questioned the procedure's meritWhich, apparently, is a high crime in the BUSINESS of medicineThese people saw a vulnerable woman and submitted me to unnecessary, extraordinarily painful, and expensive testsWhen they realized that I had a brain about me, they got rid of meNow, it is months laterI have paid on the account, but only in incrementsEach time they did not list the deduction from the total, but assured me it was being taken offI received a bill from a collection's agency they submitted the bill to, and none of my payments are thereThe entire balance is in collectionsWhen I called the office to question this, they told me, verbatim, "Once it is in collections, there is nothing we can do."
This business is not a medical practiceIt is a group of individuals who are out to perform expensive, unnecessary tests and make money off of their patientsI learned nothingI did not feel betterI was still experiencing unknown complicationsAnd now, I am without a doctorI would never, ever recommend someone to this placeThe mere thought of someone else being mistreated this way makes me physically sick
