Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/11/10) */
This complaint was already thought to be resolved by midwest customs when the car was picked up*** the owner apologized and expressed his desire to make the situation right with her' He took $off her bill to cover a carpet cleaning and
detailThe initial bill was more then reasonable and *** even did extra small repairs while fixing and repainting the bumper just to make the customer happy with the jobWe always want to have customers leave the shop satisified with the work done and happy with our fair pricing and serviceWe dont make a pratice of driving customer's vehicles and truly felt awful for her having a bad experiene with us*** was dealing with a family emergency, called to the emercency room when his fathers health suddenly and rapidly declined which led to his death a short time afterWe borrowed the car to meet him at the hospitalThe itmes were left in the back seat by his kid who we were attempting to keep distracted during this experienceIt was a bad judgemnt call that we are hoping can be understood and forgivenVerification can be given if desiredTruly sorry for the bad impression and experience left
Sincerly,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2015/11/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When we picked up the car my wife pointed out the millage *** stated that that could not have happened because they only drove it around corner to the wash bayWhen my wife said she had pictures he again said the car had not been driven
If something did happen to his father it does not give him the right to use the car without permissionHe had my cell number and could have called at any timeAs for the items left in the car if you check the list of items they included a portable ashtray, cuticle scissors, a huge hair clip, excnothing that small children would have in a car as a matter of fact I saw no evidence of children being in the carWhen we questioned him he said he removed the items from another car and just put them back in the wrong carHe did not have an answer when asked why he would remove itemsMy wife called as soon as we got home and explained she has asthma and could not drive the car after it has been smoked in and the ashtray had been leftShe was having difficulty breathing and had to use her inhaler several times that evening after driving homeShe told him she would send him the bill after it was cleaned which she did
He did not take any money off the bill because he denied having driven the carThe spot he repaired on the trunk was included in the original price he did no extra work to the carWhen we contacted the insurance we explained that we could have it fixed for $which is less that our $deductible, and is why we went to this shop instead of the shop they recommendedWe have NOT received any compensation for the cleaning of the car or the use of the car
Final Business Response /* (1000, 19, 2015/12/02) */
Mr***,
We are truly sorry for upsetting and aggrivating you as well as the problems with your wifes asthmaThe last response to you as well as this one is not from *** but from his girfriendMy name is *** and I was attempting to explain the circumstances not to excuse just possibly for you and your wife to understand that this was an emergency and not intentional and we very much want to resolve this issue fairly*** was called to the icu when his dads health rappidly declinedThen I got called into work and didnt know what to do because *** had my car and I had his kid.I couldnt bring the kid to work or the hospital and I was trying to resolve many problems quickly and it was an incredibly stressful day to say the least which is why I also made the mistake of smoking in an athmatics car which I cant apoligize enough for! So I borrowed your car to just get my car and drop the kid offThe kid insisted on bringing my amethyst rock and the other items you mentioned I dont understand this kid he rips up the phonebook and says theyre fish and I knew we'd be sitting around waiting to keep the kid from having to see all that tough to take part of lifeI expalined and he promised that he understood that he was to not damage or disturb the car in anywayLooks like he did better then I didI understand this should never have happened and hope you can understand it wouldnt have excpet in a true emergencyWe appreciate our customers and love this community*** often does extra small repairs and discounts peoples bills and at times doesnt even tell themHe wants them to notice later and smile and be happy to have found a mechanic that caresHe/we love this area and never want to see anything less then satisfied customers and on the rare occasions when this doesnt happen we work to fix it fairlySo when I talked with *** before I composed and sent the first response he expalained to me that he discounted your bill for the troublethen later said we would cover the cleaning and you were going to send us a billMaybe we were mistaken about the initial agreed upon price being and maybe there was a misunderstanding about itRegardles Ill reimburse you for the car cleaning gladly and hope this is seen as a fair resolution of this matter
Sincerely,

[redacted] you are leaving out some very important parts of the incidents that occurred...Let me remind you of what really actually happened since your recollection is so terribly off and you are intent on playing the victim when in reality you are...

the cause of the problems in this incident. Initially when you called me upon arriving at my old shop while I was not there you had caused an accident, left the scene of the accident and were arrested at the shop for leaving the scene of that accident. My father followed you to the station and bailed you out of jail and took you home. I attempted to start a claim with your insurance company which is when I learned that you had changed your full coverage insurance to liability and your car was to be totaled anyway because you had caused over 7500 in damages. I should have left it at that you clearly should not be driving. That reminds me do you remember how we first met? You had driven over a median and broke two wheels clean off your car and flattened three of the your tires and I was at the gas station and decided to help you then because I felt bad for you and I knew I could help and chose not to look away and took you home and fixed your car and you were thrilled. So now again I decided to help you and fix your car the best I could when you told me you had no money but would pay me off slowly and I assured you we would make it work. By the way you still owe me 150 balance on that job and took forever paying me. .. Do you think maybe that had something to do with the time it took to fix your car? Did you expect me to fix your car at my own expense? Also you told me you ran into something in your parking garage after I fixed your car and dropped it off to you and that's why your bumper was off. I don't know why you are blaming me for your problems and your car being "a piece of [redacted]" when you are the one that keeps running into things. I did fix your car cheaply of course because you couldn't afford to have it fixed to perfection or even properly. You should be sued for slander, failure to pay your balance, deformation and countless aggravation you've caused me expecting me to drive out to your house and fix your bumper every time you hit something. Did you think I was your personal mechanic that was at your beck and call....for free? I am so terribly sorry that I ever tried to help you.
