I contracted with Midwest Hardwood Flooring and Dawn and Brent [redacted] to refinishing my existing hardwood floors and to install new floors in a different area of the house I paid them a deposit in the amount of $1,which was half of the quote for the job This was in September Following that time, I had numerous phone calls and emails with Dawn [redacted] There were many promises made to deliver the wood and do the work and each time there was an excuse - they were sick, busy with other jobs - one excuse after another - and the wood was never delivered I finally wrote them & said I considered our contract void and demanded a return of my deposit by a certain date or I would be filing suit Dawn refused to return my emails or phone calls at that point until 9:p.mon the night before the date I said I would be filing suit when she emailed me to say she wanted to avoid going to court and asked if they could pay $per week until paid I said I'd believe it when I saw the first check - which of course, I never did I've filed suit but they still are not responding I'll get a judgment against them but that will probably be useless

There were many promises made to deliver the wood and do the work and each time there was an excuse - they were sick, busy with other jobs - one excuse after another - and the wood was never delivered. I finally wrote them & said I considered our contract void and demanded a return of my deposit by a certain date or I would be filing suit. Dawn refused to return my emails or phone calls at that point until 9:00 p.m. on the night before the date I said I would be filing suit when she emailed me to say she wanted to avoid going to court and asked if they could pay $500 per week until paid. I said I'd believe it when I saw the first check - which of course, I never did. I've filed suit but they still are not responding. I'll get a judgment against them but that will probably be useless.
