We purchased our home in July of It was put on our lot in October We still have issues that Midwest has not addressed The marriage line plaster corners curve out over 1/2" The paint on the window sills is cracking The ridge cap on the roof doesn't match our shingles The crawl space door is lower than the grade of our yard When contacted Midwest would send a workman, who never showed up on time, that would order parts to repair a complaint Next time, a different workman would show up not having any idea what the first person had done or ordered we are not nit-picking minute problems The door stop molding in the master bath was broken and nailed in anyways

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

In response to the message from *** *** we like to clarify a few points he brought up First if the inspector had done a thorough inspection he would have noticed that some of the screws holding the house together were not tightened down and that not all of the straps and tie downs were missing and this is what caused the problem Yes had to contact someone else to repair problems that we found because after ten phone calls they never came to check out the problems so we had no option but doing the repairs ourselves These people and the inspector can not tell that the porch they are blaming everything on is free standing The only place that it touches the house is where the shingles are attached to the home roof As for the what might have happened to the tie downs and straps and screws after the inspection on 4/29/we are very puzzled Neither of us can recall anyone other than the friend who could tell that the house was not sitting on the foundation securely nor had all the tie downs in place being under the house to remove them so it seems as if they were not there at all

Please see the attached letter that was sent to the customer after the state inspector from the Ohio Manufactured Housing Commission met with a representative of Midwest as well as the [redacted]'s at their home.  The customer contracted (on their own) to have work done in such...

a way as to take the home out of HUD compliance by attaching additional load to the home on a structure that was never intended to support additional load.  Regardless of the customer taking the home out of compliance Midwest has made numerous trips, beyond the warranty period for the display model that they purchased, which included but was not limited to multiple trips to do courtesy drywall repairs (not under any warranty) and after the additional load was placed on the home by the customers construction.  Midwest checked all of the piers and tightened any and all wedges as agreed to after the inspection was done, even though we believe the condition to be a result of the additional load that was placed on the roof system and transferred unevenly to the pier supports.  My only comment with regards to their "friend" looking at anything would be to restate that the home went through a final inspection back when the customer first took possession of their home,  as well as another inspection that was done on 4/29/14 and both of those inspections as well as the setting and the tying down of the home were done in accordance with Ohio Manufactured Housing Regulations and inspected by licensed, educated installers, not by some anonymous friend that I highly doubt is licensed or in anyway qualified to make statements regarding any methods that were used and the comment regarding missing tie downs is proof enough to me that the friend isn't remotely qualified to make such statements. The customer's warranty period has long since passed, their home has been taken out of compliance by them and the contractors they hired and paid and they are homeowners, not renters and as a homeowner they have responsibilities with regards to their home.  Midwest has, as always, gone beyond our contractual responsibilities and complied with the state and federal regulations regarding homes manufactured under HUD guidelines.  Midwest will not be making any additional trips to the [redacted] home, nor will we bear any financial burden after the home was taken out of compliance by the customers decisions.
