To Whom It May Concern: This is in response to the letter dated February 25, 2017, concerning inquiry ID [redacted] Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) is a multiple listing service with a marketplace encompassing much of northern Illinois We provide services to real estate professionals, who upload to MRED’s database information about properties for sale MRED does not choose which photos are maintained in the database Instead, listing agents must have an agreement with the home owner to upload information about a listing, and MRED maintains photos in the database at the listing agent’s direction and control For example, listing agents instruct MRED whether to distribute the uploaded information through various channels, including third-party websites, to help the agent promote the listing Because MRED’s agreement with listing agents requires listing agents to control their photos, MRED looks to listing agents to approve the removal of any photo from a listing Since MRED received a phone call last week from the homeowner who submitted this complaint, MRED promptly contacted the listing agent, who instructed MRED to remove the photos from being distributed to third-party websitesMRED promptly stopped the photos from any further transmission to third-party websites We understand this to be the homeowner’s desire If the homeowner requires anything further, they should contact the listing agent as well as our office, so we can be sure their concerns are promptly addressed [redacted] Chief Operating Officer Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) [redacted] [redacted] Ofc: [redacted] Mob: [redacted] Follow us on ATTENTION!
