Mr*** has spoke with Ms***, and he will be going to her residence on Sunday, March to resolve this issue

On Monday, November 16, Midwest Roofing arrived at the homeowner's residence to address the current issues The chimney leak was caused by the mortar falling apart, and water getting in and leaking into the home This is no fault of ours, as this chimney is old, and has not been maintained The chimney was sealed to prevent further leaking, but it is advised for the homeowner to have it repaired properly The garage was inspected on all sides, and nothing was needed to be cut back All gutters were open and draining. Thank you

We will be sending *** out on Wednesday, October to look at Mr*** roof to resolve this issue

We will be more than happy to fix the issue for Ms. [redacted]. We can have someone from our company come out Tuesday, September 30, if that...

is suitable for her.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/11) */
[redacted] the office manager called and spoke with Mrs. [redacted] this morning, and has set up a time for Friday, August 14 at 9 A.M. to go to her residence and look at the damage.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/20) */
(The...

consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We had the office manager [redacted] visit the home Friday, August 14th. States there is no interior damage to our insulated attic and showed us the pictures. Went on roof and discovered that a shingle was installed with the shingle groove running directly into our attic vent, hence when it rains, it acts like a funnel directly into our master bathroom. [redacted] caulked it and said this should fix the problem.
Came home from work on Tuesday, August 11th and it had "rained" in our bathroom, AGAIN!!! [redacted] is coming out to visit home Friday, August 21st.
We want Midwest to permanently fix the roof, not just caulking it. Caulking is a temporary fix for a few months. Due to our weather (rain & snow), the caulk will disintegrate over time and rain will flow into our master bathroom again and again. Shingles need to be removed and put into their correct positions. Why didn't the installer recognize his mistake when installing the roof and make the necessary adjustments??? We will always have this problem for the next 30 years!
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/08/29) */
On Saturday, August 22, [redacted] had gone to the [redacted]'s residence along with a repair man. He found the leaking, and they fixed it, and was very confident he fixed the problem. We are waiting for rain to see if there are any further problems, but there should not be. We need to arrange with them as well to do the inside drywall work as well, but we want to be sure there is no further leaking.

We would like to send someone out on Friday, February 12, between 10 A.M. and noon, to look at the problem and have it resolved.  We will have them call Ms. [redacted] to let her know approximately when someone will be there.

Complaint: [redacted]They did come out to do some kind of repair. But this does not mean the issue resolved and I am satisfied. I will wait to see if there are leaking again since the raining season is here.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

The homeowner's roof was fixed on 3-28-15, Spoke with homeowner and resolved all issues.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/04/07) */
Today, 4/6/2015, I entered Yes this morning at work for this complain. But after I got home from...

work at about 5:00pm and checked the leaking and I am surprised to see water leaking in at the same location again. The leaking has not fixed. This is the second fix now. I can not believe and do not understand why this issue still not get fixed and how many fixing this company need to do to fix the leaking. This week, we are having heave rain in St. [redacted]. The leaking needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
Please reopen this complain and Midwest Roofing & Siding needs to come back to fix the leaking. I have called the owner of the company and left a voice message.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/04/16) */
On 4-16-15, We spoke with Ms. [redacted], and she wants to wait until it rains to see if the area on her roof is in fact leaking. She will contact us when she knows.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2015/04/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have talked with the owner of the company and decided to wait to see if there will be further leaking in the future. Then they will come over to my house to get into the attic to identify the source of the leaking and repair it. For now, we just stay put and wait for more rain.

Midwest Roofing had done work on Mr. [redacted] property shortly after the tornado.  The work was completed, and we had sent out numerous invoices, and James, the office manager, had tried several times to contact Mr. [redacted], but to no avail.  After having no communication, we had no other...

options at that point but to file a lien on the property.  As for the $1,500.00 bid item for the garage door board up, we are not seeing that on our invoice, so we will deduct that item.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/14) */
Mr. [redacted] had given us his first insurance check, which was in the amount of $10955.35. We were not able to deposit this check due to the fact that Mr. [redacted]'s mortgage company did not sign off on the check, so we returned it to him, we did...

not deposit it. The insurance company informed us that they had issued a new check to Mr. [redacted] for $11,613.34. We have completed Mr. [redacted]'s roof, but still have not been paid for it. We have made several attempts to contact him and he will not return our calls.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/10/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The aforementioned check $10,955.35 from the ins company was for roof and siding, which Midwest had stated was for roof alone. Only roof was completed at aprox $7,500 cost. Siding is not completed as they had agreed. I'm waiting documents from the ins company to be sure they had not been forged and what the original estimates were, and what the ins co had agreed to pay. As I stated earlier, Midwest Roofing had assured me both roof and siding would be done, which it is not! And we have been waiting since July for both to be completed with them assuring me each and every time I called it would be completed. When I receive the documents from my ins co I will be able to move forward as to resolution to this matter.
At this time I have scheduled a city inspection of the new roof to be sure it is to code and meets what the contractor had quoted as to materials and installation. This will not take place till next week, after which we will move as needed to resolution.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/10/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Attached is the proposal from Midwest Roofing sent to my ins company Country Financial, and Country's estimate for the hail damage repair. As you can see the document from Midwest was not signed or dated for approval my me. They tried to collect the full amount of the first check $10,955.35 without completing the siding. I didn't find out the cost of the roof until after I had signed that check over to Midwest. They would have had a nice profit of aprox $3,000 if I had not contacted my ins co for the actual costs, and the check had cleared.
The roof is completed and approved by the city. I have no problem paying for that. The problem I do have is all siding was to be replaced and has not been done. To me this is a clear case of bait and switch, or clearly fraud. And to add insult to injury we have a brown roof with a blue house.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2014/11/03) */
[redacted] met for a second time with Mr. [redacted]'s insurance company for another inspection on the siding, and they approved it, so they will pay for it to be replaced. It will be getting replaced next week.
