Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [What was sent was not an actual screen shot of the transcript so that doesn't prove that the effort was truly made to communicate with me Again, if the company really wanted to reach out to me, there were a number of ways that they could have done this They didn't call the number on my file, nor did they use the email on my file even after getting the second message from me that indicated that I hadn't heard back Again, I am happy to speak to someone about the matter, as to this date, the actual matter at hand hasn't been addressed Since I was recently married, ONE of my email addresses has changed I would prefer that he not reach out to me there because that is the same email address that he "supposedly" sent the emails to before, and they never got to me Please use [redacted] to email going forward Additionally, my cell....again...is ###-###-#### I look forward to hearing from someone finallyRegards, [redacted]

It's unfortunate that this client feels that things turned out differently that she'd envisioned When we ask that each client submit their planning information one month before the wedding date, it is not only to give us ample time to become prepared with the music requests, but also to aid in finding the perfect DJ to serve them Our documented live conversations with this client on July 7th, July 18th, and August 12th still did not result in complete planning information In fact, we received an email THE DAY BEFORE the event with many of the details we were looking for This certainly makes it difficult to deliver her ideal vision. In any case, we are regularly staffed and prepared to assist our clients before the event--and DURING the event, to ensure that there's always someone to contact in case of questions or issues We even employ an on-duty supervisor day and night over the weekends so we can be reachable in case of emergency In her feedback email, this client stated that she "knew that it wouldn't go well", yet didn't feel inclined to reach out to us with her concerns and allow us to make things better before the event. When we received her feedback email, we replied via email the very next day (9-5-14) and again three days later (9-8-14) We also attempted two phone calls in that three-day span We have received no response from her to discuss her concerns

It is obvious that we attempted to reach the client, in a direct reply via the medium she used to reach us. Her frustration is apparent and would be completely justified if she were, indeed, being ignored. That frustration aside, we hope that she is interested in meaningful dialogue, as we will again attempt to reach her in the upcoming days

Our company performed the event as contracted. If the client desired an earlier start time, she could have easily opted to add extra time for an earlier start. In addition, we went above and beyond when there were music requests made by the groom AT the event--and we dispatched support staff to ensure that we could accommodate it.We fail to see the logic in her assertion that she is owed money from a company that provided a service as agreed. Even though we performed exactly as we (and the client) agreed in the contract, we made a good-faith effort to offer remuneration for her perceived disappointment

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Although the business states that the contract said a start time of 4:00 pm and that you started music at that time. The event planner specifically stated that the ceremony started at 4:15 pm. Which is the time frames and specifics of each event. They also deleted my event planner so I sent the additional documents to them to make sure they knew what time everything should have been starting.  The owner of this company has responded to me this per an email from him. "Good afternoon [redacted],The signed Performance Agreement (contract) is the legally binding document to which you and Midwest Sound are obliged.  That document has a start time of 4pm.  Our DJ was present and playing prelude music at that time.  By all measures of contract law, there is no breach of contract.  Bringing a case with no merit would certainly not be a wise decision as it would ensure a loss, and in addition to the time and energy you will expend, you would be mandated to cover our legal costs. The Excel document you submitted is a document that consists of wishes, desires and preferences.  We always aim to grant all of them.  It is very different from a contract, however.  In a good faith effort to come to a resolution, I am prepared to offer a partial refund of $100 toward your ceremony cost.  As we fulfilled our contractual obligations to you, I feel this is a more than generous amount to make up for the frustration that you attribute to the perceived shortfall.[redacted]"Which I find funny since the even planner states these important terms:Important Information For Clients* At ALL Midwest Sound events, the client is responsible for providing a skirted 6ft or 8ft table & a standard 110 volt outlet.* IF the event is outdoors the client is responsible for also providing shelter in the form of a tent in case of inclement weather as determined by the DJ.*Generally in a 4 hour dance we can play 45-55 songs, excluding events such as: Spotlight Dances, bouquet toss, dollar dance, etc.*We recommend picking 15-20 songs. This will give your DJ flexibility to take crowd requests, and blend in popular dance songs. If you put a song on the DO NOT PLAY list, we will not play it unless the bride/groom or contract holder tells us to.*Due to licensing laws we are not able to play music/videos from You-Tube and other non-licensed sources. Also we DO NOT recommend using such websites for music research, as many of the songs are mislabeled.* Your Event Planning Form and Music Request List are required to be submitted no less than 21 days prior to your event date.* After they have been submitted--or if that deadline has passed--your planning forms may not be accessible online. If you wish to make changes or additions, please contact our office directly.* We will always make every effort to accommodate any requests our clients have, but can make no guarantees in the event of late or last-minute submissions.* You are not limited to the songs on our online list. The list is merely a compilation of the most requested songs. When my event list was not late or last minute. [redacted] has only refunded me 100.00 of my amount owed back to me. So overall I caution anyone with using this vendor because clearly they feel they are exempt from a contract and sticking to the even planner.

Our contract (signed by both parties) specifies a start time of 4pm.  That is when we begin the 30 minutes of prelude music that we include for the ceremony.  We performed that exactly as contracted. After hearing of the initial complaint, I assured this client that I would be contacting...

her after I had ample opportunity to investigate the matter and speak to several individuals who may have any pertinent information to provide.Returning to my office exactly one week after the first contact from her, I arrived to one message of a missed call from her and one email from her.  I responded to her email, then subsequently received notice of the Revdex.com complaint.I believe we have received, investigated, and responded to her issue in a fair and prudent manner.

Review: In July 2014, I completed the profile and provided information on what we ideally needed for our DJ services to Midwest Sound. In that profile, AND in conversations with [redacted]? (I can’t recall), I informed MWS that we have a really unique situation. My husband is older than me by 20 years. That means that the sound will need to be a reflection of the people in the room…..diverse/versatile, but soulful. I was asked about the type of music we listen to, which we stated 100.7 and 98.3. I was also asked who was my favorite artist to which I replied, “Beyonce.” I was asked about what type of DJ I wanted and I selected the one in the middle….not too hype, but not a mute. In the notes, I mentioned that we wanted several slides and that I wanted to have cocktail hour and dinner be R/B Soul from the Classics and then at the reception, we’ll start with slides and then turn up with hip/hop later. AGAIN, THIS WAS ALL WRITTEN IN THE DJ PROFILE FORM THAT I COMPLETED ONLINE AND PROVIDED TO SOMEONE THAT I’D SPOKEN TO OVER THE PHONE AS WELL.

That same person that I’d spoken to had indicated that if I wanted something more specific than what was on my music profile, I can send the information in. He told me that the DJ would be in touch with me. I left an alternate number with that individual to contact me as I’d been having issues with my cell phone. Additionally, a [redacted], and another lady had been contacting me by email as well to get a hold of me when they needed to. As with most brides, I was incredibly busy with other planning, that it slipped my mind to send additional music. It wasn’t until the Friday before my wedding that I realized that I didn’t have a call from the DJ. The moment I realized this, I made contact with MWS who I wasn’t able to reach until Saturday morning. They claimed to have a wide variety of DJ's with varied backgrounds and varied experience....including in R/B and Hip hop.

I emailed my requests to the company first. Once I got a call back, I spoke with someone who indicated that they’d been trying to call me all week. I looked at my phone and stated that I didn’t have any missed calls. When I asked what number they were calling, they gave me the number that I asked them NOT to call. I told her that I’d left my alternate phone number with the [redacted] person and they said that he didn’t relay that information…..but at this point, we’ll have to go with what we have because it’s too late to make all of the changes/additions that I was requesting. As you can imagine, this baffles me completely. Especially since my music/DJ profile was so elaborate and detailed. If they couldn’t reach me and my wedding was in a few days, why didn’t they make the effort to email me as they’ve done in the past?? I asked this question to which she continually evaded.

[redacted] finally called. When I told him the run-down of what I wanted…..he told me that my music was "wierd." I asked him what he meant. He said, “Well….not weird, just different.” I didn’t appreciate the comment and from that moment, I knew that it wouldn’t go well. He clearly didn’t understand. I explained to [redacted] that to appease my husband and many of the older people in the room that I wanted the classics during cocktail hour and during dinner ONLY. I told him that once the reception starts it’s MY music and it’s turn-up time. [redacted] repeated, “I know, I know….I’ll make sure that it’s a mixture for everyone all night.” I said, “No [redacted]…..not all night. He gets his music during COCKTAIL HOUR AND DINNER! I get my music, “AT THE RECEPTION.” He replied that he understood this. Again, this was WRITTEN in the music profile that was submitted in July.

They decided to play a compilation CD during cocktail hour and dinner. It went over well with my guests, but I paid to have DJ services for 10 hours. Playing a CD through a sound system isn't DJ services. I told [redacted] that we were coming into our Reception to the song, “Bring Em Out,” by T.I. If you’ve ever heard this song, it’s a sure-fire party starter. We came out to the song and began to get our boogie on. Many joined us on the dance floor and I thought, “Yeah….this is going to be awesome!!” As soon as the song ended, all of a sudden, Marvin Gaye’s, “Let’s Get it On,” follows! What? How does that work? How do you go from T.I. (a hip hop rapper) to Marvin Gaye? Where’s the flow in that? I said MULTIPLE times to [redacted] that the reception was MY music. Classics were done. Why did this happen? After that it was straight downhill. He played the song, “Jump On it,” from the Fresh Prince of Bel Aire……the dance floor was completely empty and other than that song, all you heard were crickets as everyone stared at him in confusion.

My music profile also asked who my favorite singer was. I responded, "Beyonce." He played her song during my boquet toss.....but NO OTHER BEYONCE SONG WAS PLAYED ALL NIGHT. When it came time for my husband to remove the garter all of a sudden I hear the theme song from the movie, “Mission Impossible.” Why? What the….!! I was MORTIFIED!! In all of the weddings that I’ve been to in my entire life, I have NEVER heard of that. That is the time to play something sultry, sexy, and funky…..my husband was going UNDERNEATH my dress to get my garter with his teeth. Mission Impossible? What the hell is sexy about Mission Impossible???

There’s way too much to comment on and my email is long enough. All in all, the party was SO unsuccessful that we had the building until midnight and the party ended around 9:15pm. It was a sad, sad, night. Beautiful day…..but a sad way to end the night.

They did not offer services as identified. My DJ didn't understand hip/hop, R&B and other soulful music. My DJ was supposed to engage the audience, yet he didn't speak a word all night. They didn't honor the information that I put in my music profile....and didn't make all attempts to reach me prior to settle things out. When I emailed to complain....I sent three separate messages and no one responded. I also called and no on picked up the phone.

It was a disaster.Desired Settlement: I believe a full or partial refund is warranted. My reception was ruined. You only get one reception!!

Review: We hired the DJ to provide service during our wedding. I was not happy with the level of services and our request .Desired Settlement: I would like some form of a refund for our wedding.

Consumer

Response:

We met with our DJ service before the wedding and filled out

what type of music we like and what special things we would like done at our

wedding. The DJ did not follow the order of events IE father daughter dance,

mother son and first dance. We had a special first danced and we told the DJ

that not to announce it, but he did! We also were not liking the music he was

playing, it seemed like he did not read our do not play list. Because he plaid

a lot that we asked not to play.
