When I interviewed I was told this program had high standards for setting the students up for success. I thought this was the case after going through my first module. Soon thereafter that was not the case. In other programs in this school recruiters come by frequently for job placement. Not one recruiter has come to this program since I've been there. We were promised lots of lab time allowing us to pick up skills for this job. When we are out in the lab there are way too many students and not enough equipment for everyone. The instructors have no idea how to get everyone a chance. I graduate in a few weeks and I feel I have wasted my time and money going to a low standard program that was promised to be high and set me up for success.
I spoke with *** on October 14, 2020 regarding his Revdex.com complaint. We had a lengthy discussion as to the events that have happened over the past 9 months since his enrollment. He started the HVAC Program on February 8, 2020 just before the pandemic. He started his second mod just a week prior to the campus having to move up the summer break to March 16, 2020 through March 29, 2020. At that point we had went to an online platform that incorporated our textbook provider as well as lectures done over Zoom and Teams. We then brought students back to class with social distancing and alternating schedules and a hybrid platform on May 5, 2020. On July 6, 2020, we brought all classes back on campus to stay in accordance with the local government's guideline regarding Covid. *** stated that he has been extremely stressed this year with everything and had not even gotten his taxes back at this point which mean that he has not been able to get stimulus money either. He was hoping to get some of his money back in order to pay some bills.
We discussed some of the things that he has learned, and he has taken and passed his EPA Exam, which is not only a graduation requirement but a serious qualification for the HVAC industry that employers look for. He mentioned that he has recently taken a full time overnight position at his employer that has him exhausted. His grades and attendance have been well within our standards since the day he started the program and he is a very bright young man.
He said that he could have the opportunity to get on as an installer at his employer as well and was concerned about not knowing everything. I told him that was what we are here for. We always state that once a graduate, always a graduate and we always welcome graduates to reach out to us even after they graduate to ask questions or come in and we can help with retraining for a concept or answering questions.
*** was quite content with our conversation and that he had been heard. His graduation date was October 15, 2020 and he has successfully graduated from the program and knows that we will continue to be here for him even long after.
My name is ***, I was attending Midwest Technical Institute I was in the CDL truck driving school, I started on 02/18/19 and on 02/15/19 *** an admission Representative from MTI sent me to faith immediate care at *** ave Springfield mo, to get a Drug Test done, then on Friday 02/22/19 *** told me I couldn’t continue in school because *** hasn’t sent your texts results to ***, and the head of MTI said to me it was my problem that the Dr didn’t get my results back in on time, I said how can it be my fault, and *** and her supervisor said to me it’s not there problem, this is the most disrespectful school that I have ever attended this is the supervising people that run MTI, *** supervisor this that went on isn’t there problem and they don’t owe me any explanation,people running this school are the sorryest bunch I have ever met in a school, this is so wrong.
came to the Springfield, Missouri campus on 2/08/2019 interested in enrolling into the CDL class which started on 02/18/2019. *** did begin class on 02/18/2019 with the following provision in his signed Enrollment Agreement: If a student, provisional or fully enrolled, does not pass the D.O.T. Drug Screen and/or the D.O.T. Physical, he/she will not be allowed to continue in the CDL Training Course or Professional Truck Driving. All monies will be refunded with the exception of the cost of the D.O.T. Drug Screen and D.O.T. Physical.
*** gave *** our release form on 2/12/2019 to go to *** (FIC) for his DOT Drug Screen.
*** called FIC on 02/22/2019 since we had not received *** drug screen results and was concerned that *** might not be able to continue his schooling with us. FIC had some questions for *** so *** left *** a voice mail asking him to contact FIC.
*** came to campus on 02/25/2019 to talk with ***. She explained to him that he would need to wait for the next start date (03/18/2019) since we did not have his drug screen cleared. This was part of his Enrollment Agreement requirement. The Campus President tried to talk with *** later in the day; however, he was upset and angry and would not speak with her.
MTI did not tell *** that it was not their problem. They reiterated that as long as he had a clear drug screen test, he could enroll for the next start date (03/18/2019.)
