I did not guarantee him a refund as he purchased a non-refundable ticket.  He got sick and could not travel.  I told him I would contact [redacted] to see if they would make an exception, but they did not.  He may use the ticket as a voucher to purchase future air travel with [redacted]...

[redacted] for 1 yr from the date of purchase.  I will however, refund him as a goodwill gesture.  I will contact him today to let him know.[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that while I do not agree with the resolution, I will accept it. It took two months, three phone calls, seven emails, complaints to the Revdex.com, the Attorney General, the FAA, my local House of Representatives member, United, and finally a call to my lawyer before this business responded to my complaint. The travel agent's claim that the name misspelling did not matter, is simply not true. I spoke to United airlines myself and was told that if we were flying SOLELY on United flights, the misspelling would have been okay. However, our flights include [redacted] airlines and there is no way to foretell whether these foreign airlines would accept a passenger with a misspelled name. It IS a VERY big deal. I am offended that this travel agent continues to downplay the seriousness of the situation we may have found ourselves in. I am offended that she continues to refuse to accept responsibility or offer a real explanation of why it took so long for her to correct this. The time I have spent on this, the grief and stress and anxiety this situation have caused , could have been entirely avoided if the travel agent had simply corrected the issue when I originally told her about it---thirty minutes after she purchased the ticket. I will accept this resolution because it FINALLY fixes the problem. But I am NOT satisfied with her response.
