Whom It May Concern, Midwestern Career College (MCC) is highly committed to providing quality education that would enable students to launch successful career. Doing so in the most ethical way is paramount to institution's valuesMCC takes any concerns from its students, graduates,
employees and business partners very seriously. Therefore, complaints such as this one are disheartening as MCC strives for every student to have a valuable and positive experience that will prepare him or her obtain a job and build a career. To address individual issues as listed by the student, first, the student's statements about the institution's free repeat of courses policies is inaccurate. A student can repeat a course only if he/she failed a course. If a student withdraws without completing a course, the student is not eligible. Furthermore, there is a two year window (150% of program duration) to take this course if a student is eligible to take it for free. Based on the timeline and circumstances described by the student, it does not seem that this particular student met either one of these requirements. In order for MCC to provide more detailed information from student's education record we need the student to sign a FERPA release form giving us permission to share this information with Revdex.com. We have requested it, but have not yet received from the student. Here is a policy, however, as stated in the Catalog, which every student acknowledges to have received and read: "FREE COURSE REPEAT Active students are eligible for a one-time repeat of the previously failed course(s) free of tuition chargeThe Free Repeat Tuition Waiver excludes externship repeats and the costs associated with books and fees that must be covered by the studentStudents who withdrew from the program of study and/or the College are not eligible for the free repeat tuition waiver upon returnIf the repeated course(s) is/are subsequently failed, the student will have to pay tuition for the retakeThe cost is determined based on the credit hours of the course that needs to be taken and total tuition for the termCourses must be repeated within 150%-time frame from the start date of the program." Second, every student at MCC must undergo an evaluation to be approved for clinical externship by a Program Director or a Faculty member. Upon successful evaluation, students are placed at a local hospital or clinical contingent on them being in compliance with other requirements, which include no concerning issues related code of conduct, submission of the required documentation and compliance with payment terms for tuition and fees. We encourage the student to undergo such evaluation, which has been offered to her to help her demonstrate her competence and be placed into a clinical site Moreover, the administration has previously arranged an instructor without previous experience with the student to perform this evaluation to ensure that the assessment is perceived as completely unbiased. Furthermore, upon students consent for the school to share information related to confidential student's records and documents, we can share additional light the clarify the facts and expand on the details as listed above. MCC administration has spent significant time and effort in accommodating this student, and we encourage her to collaborate with us to enable her to successfully graduate and pursue her career interests. Despite various challenges that students may face at school or outside, MCC administration is committed to making every student a success story! Thank you,***

I have a neutral experience here..I was in the surgical tech program at the downtown campusFirst of all besides our one main teacher , other "assistants" came and wentAnd we're not qualified to even be teaching usWhen I originally signed up for the program it was X amountThen the dates got pushed back, schedule changedNext thing I know tuition went up 4KOk fineMy whole class , most of us on financial aid asked what are we expected to pay out of pocketWe all got the same answerNothing it's all covered by student loansEven received a refund check after the semesterThen all of a sudden two months before our program ends we get hit with you owe the school $2,that wasn't coveredAnd you will not receive your diploma or certificate until we receive itThen we were told if we went on a payment plan they would release itThen it was back to need the full amountAlso, for surgical techs their are certification exams you can takeMidwestern is not accredited through the CAAHEP so it doesn't allow you to sit for NBSTSAI lost out on two job opportunities because of this and the fact that no one has heard of this schoolI wouldn't recommend doing the surgical tech program here before researching where you want to workI will say that Mrs Mateo has some of the best clinical sites and that is what saved me when looking for a jobMy advice is do your research before coming here and get everything in writingThe office staff is incompetent to say the least and just tell you whatever you want to hearThis is a for profit school and doesn't have the best interest of the studentsThey will pass you even when you shouldn't and let students take the course as many times as neededThe location is nice that's about the only plus of itThe "lab" is a joke for the amount of tuition being spentI passed my certification exam but since I owe the school money they won't release my paperwork so I can receive my certification yet I can't pay them Bc I don't have a job due to not having my actual certification or having NCCT and not NBSTSA and for it not being a fully accredited programMy advice , do your own research

Great experience
