Mightier Movers Reviews (1)

Review: I had a GREAT experience on Monday with [redacted] and [redacted] who moved my belongings to my new location, into its garage, until I would move all of my belongings into my place today, June 1st. Since I was so happy with the move on Monday, I requested [redacted] and [redacted] again, especially because they already knew what I had and what the next steps were...aka - how to get my couch into my place. So, I went into this with high hopes, then the owner calls me the night before and tells me that he has let [redacted] and [redacted] go. Fine, okay, things happen and he is the owner and knows what's best. Well, I really wish I had [redacted] and [redacted] for today's move because I believe it would have turned out differently. I've had 2 other moving companies move me in the past, one of them - [redacted] (which uses [redacted] to move their cargo) - I used twice because they did such a stand up job, but then I read all these positive reviews of Mightier Movers on [redacted], that I wanted to give them a shot. Again, I had a positive first experience with them earlier in the week. With that said, the owner, [redacted], called me around 6 am the day of the first move (Memorial Day), to say that he needed me to meet him at the [redacted] and pay for the truck, because he didn't have enough money to pay for it. Okay, fine....I realize I'm paying what I'm paying and I was already awake, but if I'm pairing this with today's fiasco, I'm not impressed. [redacted], the owner, and the other person, [redacted], were who was helping with this move today. I advised [redacted] that [redacted], [redacted] and I had measured the couch on Monday, as well as the width of the hallway leading down from my landlord's house (not where my couch was left stuck an hour later) and determined that by removing the feet of the couch, it would be feasible and better to move it through there, than through the doorway from the garage, which has a door that goes directly into my apartment. [redacted] believed that it was possible to move the couch through this garage door to my apartment and since they're the movers and most of all, he's the owner of the company, I would assume he would know best. I know when I've worked with other movers, they definitely let me know what's feasible and not feasible - even the people who moved my couch into a place I had when I first moved it....they're the ones with the experience, not me! I told [redacted] about what we could do with the upstairs entrance, but he insisted on getting the couch thru the garage door entrance. Once the couch was stuck in the hallway, which is the hallway that you immediately enter from the garage entrance, they were shimminging it around and when they decided it couldn't get thru that way (garage entrance), they worked on getting it back into the garage but weren't able to and by 10 am'ish, [redacted] refused to work on it further...and this is where I'm grateful for [redacted], because he was standing by the couch, wanting to help, but he had to follow his boss. I'm sure it was a tough situation for the both of them, especially since they had a job immediately following me at noon, but they got this couch stuck in this place, they should resolve this matter. [redacted] refused and even stated to me that I was manipulating him. Perception is perception, but I was at this point of him saying this to me, willing to take his opinion that the couch would not have a chance to come back where it was when they started - in the garage, so I was willing to take it apart, and had the tools to do so, but [redacted] refused to even help me in dismantling it! I can't say I would ever use these guys again, especially with [redacted], as the owner, not just some employee of the company moving my stuff, who walked away and refused to resolve this matter that he got me into. Luckily, my landlord's contractor arrived at that time, asked me about the status of the couch, told him that my movers had left and he immediately told me he would take care of it, along with his workers. Once his workers arrived, my couch was back in the garage in a matter of minutes! [redacted] and [redacted] ([redacted], I think, has the power to move things, which [redacted] didn't have much on him, and I think this because [redacted] did make things happen) worked on getting my couch "unstuck" for an hour, and while [redacted] was completely willing to keep working with me, [redacted] walked away, and yet someone I didn't even pay to help me with this matter, took on the task immediately to make the situation better, and did it soooo quickly! I wish I had my landlord's contractor's contact information, because I cannot recommend he and his staff more - they've been amazing ever since I moved my stuff into the garage on Monday - helping me, even though they're not getting paid to help me - they're doing it out of the goodness of their heart!Desired Settlement: I want refund of the $80 that I paid to [redacted] for the $100 worth of moving, and I want an itemized invoice sent to me for Monday, May 27th move, including the costs associated with [redacted]. The cost to replace my couch that they ruined, along with getting my place re-painted will cost much more, so I believe I am asking a very reasonable refund for this.
