Mighty Duct promised us a $50 referral fee for a future customer which we delivered. It's been 7 mons. and they still haven't paid us. We hired Mighty duct to clean our ducts in [redacted] 2014. After they completed our job they offered us a $50 referral fee if we gave them another customer. We delivered to them a customer who hired and paid them for duct cleaning services. In the past seven months they told us, 3 times, they would send us a check...it never came!Desired SettlementReferral fee, $50, to be paid in full.Business Response We thought this was paid several months ago. I found out recently that it was not. We will be hand delivering $50.00 cash this Saturday [redacted].I am truly sorry for the misunderstanding

Said system didn't need to be cleaned. Said they sprayed a biodegradable cleaner on coil to remove musty smell and did not.I hired them to clean our air ducts 10/6/14. They came in, [redacted] set up by removing the vents upstairs and drilling the openings in the supply and return trunks. [redacted] was with me discussing the process of cleaning the ducts. I told him I was paying in cash (as [redacted], the owner said there was a 10% discount if I paid in cash), showed him the checklist I printed off of the NADCA's website, and told him my husband had taken some of the ducts down, cleaned them, wrapped them in insulation and re-installed them about twenty five years ago and that we thought it might be time to clean them again. [redacted] had called to [redacted] and asked if he could see him for a minute. A bit later, [redacted] asked me again why we were getting the ducts cleaned. I told him and he said we have very little dust in the vents and showed me a picture. He told me he didn't think it needed to be done and that it would be like stealing from me to take the money to clean the ducts when they didn't need it - but it was my call. I told him I appreciated his honesty. They said that's how the Company operates. So I declined to get the ductscleaned but told them I felt it would only be fair to pay for coming out to my home. [redacted] said that the Company believes that word of mouth aboutgood service and repeat customers were important and [redacted] said [redacted] (the owner) would say no charge for them to come out. I told them that we don't use the A/C that much but when we do and first turn it on we get a musty smell. [redacted] told me the evaporator coil and pan looked clean but what he could do was spray a biodegradable cleaner on the coil that smelled a bit like Lysol and that when we used the A/C next year it wouldn't smell mustywhen we turned it on. I said okay. [redacted] replaced the vents and packed up his tools. When I went back downstairs and [redacted] was patching the access holes. [redacted] started saying how they drove all the way out here and then lost a service call. I offered again to pay for the service they had done, he said whatever I thought would be fair, I told him he knew the rates for the business better than I did. He said I don't know, so I suggested he call [redacted] for his thoughts. We went outside, [redacted] was already in the truck and [redacted] appeared to make a cellphone call and started a conversation. Although I was just inches away, I could not hear any responses coming from the phone. He hung up and told me $150.00 and went to the truck to get the invoice. Stunned at the amount and intimidated I went in the house to get the money, he followed me in, crossed out everything on the invoice except clean air conditioning coil, I signed the invoice gave him the cash, and they left. It occurred to me as they were driving away that I didn't smell anything like Lysol in the basement so I turned onthe A/C to see if it smelled musty and it did. I called the office immediately, there was no answer so I left a voice mail message that I thought [redacted] had forgotten to spray the coil. When my husband came home I told him what happened. He took off the patch and looked in the area of the coil and said it was full of metal fragments from the access hole being drilled. He vacuumed them out and said there was no smell of anything being sprayed inside. I didn't get a returned call so on 10/9/14 I e-mailed the owner with the whole story. He offered to schedule them to come back to respray the coil but I said "No Thank you". [redacted] didn't sprayed it in the first place, he didn't vacuum out the metal fragments from drilling the holes and walked off with $150.00 in cash. On 10/10/14 [redacted] e-mailed back that he would send the money back which to this date has not been received.Desired SettlementThe $150.00 the owner said he would refund me.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]I will send out the $150.00 this week it was an oversight. They did clean the coil and condensate pan. We did offer to go back and clean it again at no charge. More often than not any odor from a coil takes more than one treatment. This is because the cleaner doesn't always get deep enough into the coil during the first cleaning.
