[redacted] called from the business stated the car was purchased March 7, 2017 and it came with a three month warranty through a third party company. Any issues with the car were to be brought to the attention of the warranty company. [redacted] stated that the only issue the car had when it was sold was that...

the A/C compressor was bad and he fixed that free of charge. [redacted] stated that Mrs. [redacted] reached out to on 6/7/2017 stating she was having an issues with the head gasket and was informed to contact the warranty company. [redacted] also stated that her car payment is due and hasn't been paid. He also mentioned that the car hasn't been registered through [redacted] and she is still driving around with 30 day tags.

The owner has said that he is willing to offer $50 to the customer but will not offer any further compensation, as he believes the remote was already broken when it was brought into the store and ensured that he did place the key fob on the console for the customer to pick it, and is not responsible for lost items.

Review: I visited Mike and Rands Auto on Saturday 3/12/16 due to an issue with a squealing noise from my front driver's side tire. During the visit I explained the issue to the staff member and he stated he would have Mike drive my car to diagnose the problem. Well after waiting for over 30 minutes with constant chatter from Mike trying to convince me to purchase a car, he eventually drove my car to diagnose the problem. This was only after he serviced another persons vehicle who showed up 15 minutes after me without an appointment. After diagnosing the problem he stated I needed to have my ball joints repaired on the driver's side. He stated it could cost anywhere from approximately $250 -$550, but he would have to take everything apart to see which parts are needed first and to see if both the upper and lower ball joints needed replaced. He stated he would give me a free alignment after the repair. I also asked if he could replace my factory wheels with some premium wheels that I wanted to put back on the car and he stated "yes". I returned to pick my vehicle up even though he didn't call to say it was ready as he agreed with the wheels in tow and he stated my car was ready, but I could bring the wheels back on Tuesday to have them installed as all his mechanics were busy and tired so I agreed. On Monday, 3/14/16 my father had to take my vehicle back to Mike and Rands as the agreed alignment was not completed and the car was pulling far left if you let the stirring wheel go. When he arrived he was told Mike was not there and would arrive in 45 minutes so my father waited. Mike finally arrived and told my father that the alignment was done and that he never agreed to put my premium wheels on the vehicle. My father then advised him that the alignment was not done correctly and they eventually completed it but only after my father insisted. My father called me and I spoke with Mike who stated he charged me $400 tax free money as he didn't charge any tax for the repair.Desired Settlement: I would like to request for the mechanic to honor the services promised or otherwise refund me part of my $400 paid for the repair. I would request that the mechanic be investigated for running a business and failing to charge the patrons taxes as this is tax fraud.

Review: [redacted]I had my brakes worked on at Mike & Rands on March 13, 2015. When dropping off my car, I left both my regular key, and my key Fob with an employee named [redacted] (the Fob is the wireless key that can lock and unlock a car door, or you can push a panic button to set off an alarm in case of emergencies). After I returned and paid, they only gave me back my regular key, and had lost the key fob. We all looked for the Fob for about 5 or 10 minutes (without finding it), in both my car and throughout Mike & Rands place of business. As I was on my way to pick up my stepson, I couldn't stay at [redacted] & Rands any longer to continue looking for the fob. One of the owners names is also [redacted] (just like the employee that I gave my key to). The owner suggested I look in my car again (i.e. look again between the seats, etc.), and said he would look around his office and garage again for the Fob. [redacted] also said that if I did not find my key in my car within a few days, just to give him a call back (to see if they had found it). My husband called back a week later, on March 20 and spoke to [redacted], who said he still hadn't found the key but would continue to look for it, and call us back. He didn't call us back, so I called again on this tuesday, the 24th. [redacted], the owner, got rather snippy with me, stating he didn't have the key so it had to be in my car (according to his employee). To make a long story short, I have looked thoroughly in my car several times, including in between the seats with a LED flashlight, and the key simply is not there. They lost my FOB, and are refusing to replace it. The final time I tried to contact [redacted] was later that Tuesday, when I texted [redacted] the owner and asked that he replace the Fob; he never texted or called me back.Desired Settlement: I simply want a check written to me that will cover the cost of purchasing a new key Fob. My car is a [redacted]. I called [redacted] on Midlothian to get the replacement cost, and they said that the Fob itself costs $82.95, and that there is also a $100 fee for programing the key to my car. Also, there will be tax, (probably around $11.00 on the $182.95 purchase cost). So I am requesting that a check be made to me in the amount of $194.00 as soon as possible to cover the amount of getting the new key fob, and getting it programed. It's not just a matter of convenience, its also a matter of safety as that key had a panic button on it in case of emergencies.

Review: I went to Mike& Rands for an inspection. I left my car there because the [redacted] told me it would be two hours before he could get to it. [redacted] called me about 15 minutes later and told me my car was great I just needed new brakes to pass inspection. [redacted] informed me he would charge 300.00 to change my brakes. I actually have my own mechanic who would charge much less and so I told [redacted] specifically not to repair my brakes. When I came to pick my car up [redacted] said he put the brakes on and my total is 320.00. I asked "for the inspection"? [redacted] then informed me he put the brakes on my car. I told [redacted] he would have to take the brakes off immediately because I didn't give verbal or written consent for the repair. [redacted] refused and I was forced to call the police because [redacted] would not return my key to me. [redacted] informed the officer, my mother, and I that there is a law that prevents him from taking the brakes off because he already passed my inspection. It is a complete injustice for [redacted] to do as he wants with my vehicle without my consent and I am being force to go to civil court meanwhile I have no transportation. I work 8 hours a day 5 days a week and this is a great inconvenience to me. I am in the process of figuring out my next steps but I must report my experience with these guys. I was completely taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: I would like my car returned to me as I brought it in to Mike & Rands with the original brakes back and my inspection sticker rejected.
