Mr *** and I entered a contract for the refoofing of his home, upon inspection of the roof I found 3/plywood was used as decking on the roofI informed Mr.*** that my engineer does not certify 3/plywood for a windstorm roofI submitted a supplement to Mr.*** insurance company to cover the
replacement decking..Mr*** and I had agreed to for the reroof.I requested a supplement of 4600, bringing the total to 10,My request for the supplement was approved3/plywood is not windstorm certifiableMr.*** had already received for the reroofHe gave my the to get startedWe started work on his roof Thursday I purchased 1/2" plywood, nails, felt paper, drip edge, cap nails, and 1×wood We begin work, by that friday we had removed the existing shingles, hauled the shingles to the dump, decked and felted one side of the roof I i formed Mr .*** that I could not work the weekend Mr *** approved my request and stated they would not be home anyway, they were going out of townI informed Mr*** that there is no rain in the forecast, as is our custom when we do roofing jobsWe returned to work on Monday, as we were working it rained and Mr***'s home did receive some damage to his insulation and drywallI informed Mr*** that the rain was not forecasted and we would repair the damageWe finished decking and felting the second half of the roofI informed Mr*** that I now needed half of the remaing check to purchase the shingles to finish the jobThe roof is squaresMr*** became irraite and refused to release the funds needed to complete the job, Mr*** made it clear through threats and vulgar language that I would not be getting the funds because of damage caused by the rainI asked Mr*** to calm down and informed him that we needed to finish the roof and then we would repair the damageHe refused and contiuned to be irriate and angry his threats and vulgar language countiued at this point I decided to only communticate through text messages to keep a recordMr *** refused to release the funds and informed me he was going to get someone else to finish the job and that he would be keeping my dewalt compressor that he still has and wont release to me till this dayHe broke the contractMy intentions were to finish mr ***s roof, fix the damage cause by the rain as we understand the investment one puts in their homeThis was a very unfortunate situation but could have been resolved
