*** *** The response from dealership is not true, I provide information that I had been in business for months not months, that was the mistake that the salesman and finance guy had made.I have been in business since October and for me to provide tax documents it would only support months in business for that year

I am very sorry for the confusion on this transaction.  We meant no harm here in what has transpired.  We are on the customer's side if for no other reason than, we really wanted to sell the pick up truck. If the salesperson led you to believe that the entire loan application was completely and unconditionally approved, again, I apologize. The fact is, however, the loan was conditioned for "proof of income" at some point during the application process. This is beyond our control. There are additional things that occurred that led to a more lengthy process of application such as two different trucks were considered and there is a credit application that was submitted online that clearly states 2 years of self employment but really in the end, none of that matters. What matters is your hopes were "up" based on the fact that you thought you were unconditionally approved and thats just not correct.  And we can't do anything to change the mind of the bank.  So, I apologize. Thank you

It is true that a mistake was made at the $52,295.00 price quoted by [redacted] and I apologize for his mistake.  [redacted] has been with me over 10 years and we have never had an issue like this in the past.  I can completely understand the frustration that has resulted from this honest...

mistake. And it is correct that he verbally reaffirmed the price over the phone but all of that stemmed from his initial email correspondence where he inadvertently priced the truck where he did. The truck has never been priced online, not on our web site, not on Auto Trader or Cars.com for the price that [redacted] sent to her. So, there was never any "false advertising" with this vehicle.  But again, we clearly understand that he made a mistake and we are sorry for that.  This was not a ploy to lure a customer to our store and then raise the price $7000.00. I'm open to suggestions.  I do not think an honest mistake should end up costing our business $7000.00. When mistakes on occasion happen with newspaper advertising, Internet automotive site advertising we have always quickly corrected the mistake and endeavor to not have it happen again. None of this minimizes Ms [redacted].....not in the least. Can I reimburse her for time and fuel expense? I am open to suggestions. And please understand, I do apologize.....we made an honest mistake. Sincerely[redacted]

Thank you for contacting us regarding Ms. [redacted].  She is correct that it has taken some time.  Much of that was as a result of so much discussion with respect to why we would not fix the truck for free as she originally insisted.  She was adamant that somehow what she had heard at...

the time of sale was the culprit with her need for a new engine now.  We took exception to that notion in that the truck had 73198 miles at delivery and when the truck came to the dealership in need of an engine it had in excess of 110,000 miles.....nearly 40,000 miles more than when she alleges the engine noise was heard at the time of sale!!!!!?????  Were we to install a new engine 37000 miles ago in anticipation of a potential engine failure at 110,000 miles? Further, she states she has had routine maintenance at required intervals....at no time did anyone suggest to her throughout 37000 miles of driving that her engine was failing?  And as for the transmission leak discovered...yes that's true.  And yes, we are going to fix it prior to returning the truck to her.......how on earth does this translate in to us being dishonest?  Would she rather us do just as we stated..."replace the engine"....and return the truck with a trans leak? And I didn't see in her complaint where we told her that we were taking care of the trans issue for free, but we are. There have been no honesty issues in any of this.

After doing as Mr [redacted] requested, my service manager, [redacted] spoke again with a supervisor at Ford ESP. This time we pushed in as much as Mr [redacted] was adamant and did point out that the language in his contract was clear that the fuses would be covered.  Finally, the supervisor shared that this policy was purchased in 2010 and that "in 2012, the policy was changed that excluded fuses"..........that's more or less a direct quote.  Service Manager [redacted] explained how ridiculous that explanation was and that the customer purchased the contract with a different understanding. In the end, the Ford ESP Supervisor conceded and agreed that it should be a covered item.  I apologize for the inconvienence, and the delay.  I appreciate his patience and his persistence.  We should get a check out by the end of this week and Mr [redacted] will have his refund by the weekend.
Thank you,
[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  In my previous conversations with Ford ESP, they would not even let me speak to a Supervisor.  I was only told the Supervisor said "fuses are not covered", end of story.  I would like to thank the dealership, and in particular, the Service Manager, [redacted], for addressing this issue with the Ford ESP Supervisor.
Regards,
[redacted]

The price given to us wasn't only given once! It was an advertised price and we questioned the price multiple times! And according to the salesman, it is supposed to be double checked. This is not about time and expense!! It is about buying a vehicle for the price that it was advertised for and that we were given both verbally and by email on multiple occasions!! It's about being a reputable business! Even if it was an "error" on their part, they should have to honor the price that they advertised and gave us at least 5 times.

My manager [redacted] has been in contact with the customers husband.  She purchased the vehicle strictly As-Is and purchased no extended warranty.  We are recommending that they have it towed to our lot to analyze.  Once that has occurred we can determine a course of action.

I am happy to reimburse for time and expense that resulted from the error. It truly was an honest mistake. That is what this has cost her.  Anything else would be considered a punitive reward(an amount of money paid in order to punish us) and I do not feel that is merited in this case.....we simply made an honest mistake and we are very sorry.  The Revdex.com can attest to the fact that there is no pattern of behavior like what was alleged in the original complaint filed......no pattern like this in the least. I sincerely apologize and would be happy to discuss with her if she wished.[redacted]
