We took our car in for an oil change and to check the air conditioning. They said it would be $300 just to check the air. We said, that’s ridiculous, just do the oil change. They called and said our transmission was leaking and there was a noise, so they needed to fix that for nearly $1000. We took it to our local guy who FIXED the air for $280 and said there’s NOTHING wrong with transmission. Liars. Don’t trust these scammers.
What’s funny is we were planning on buying a new Encore from them next week. Sorry guys, we are going somewhere else. Who would do that knowing how much everyone is struggling to pay their bills right now? Mike Haggerty Buick on 93rd and Cicero.

I took my car to their service department due to engine light being on. They put car on the diagnostic machine told me I needed a new battery (which I purchased). On invoice it stated engine under boost check operation of turbo components operating properly (at this time). Clear DTC whatever that is test drove. Now 2 wks later the engine light is back on, they want me to bring car back in so they can charge me more money to most likely put a new turbo booster on. I think they are scam artists just trying to get more money instead of making the proper repair that's needed.
If you plan on taking your car there beware of how they treat older people and people of color.
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Brought a salvage vehicle from I was convince never seen the carfax knowing the car was a bad car took 17,000 dollars for me went back up there and I was treated like garbage always read the fine terms through my car has water flooding I have been out of 2,000 fixing it

Advertised a vehicle at one price, and when I got there had it marked at another price. They brought it bake down to what it was advertised at offered me a price on a trade in I accepted. Had me initial a form saying I purchase the vehicle at a price we agreed on, then called later saying that the deal was no good, and wished me luck on finding something else.

I purchased a 2014 gmc Denali with 128000 miles and as soon as I drove out the city that same night I noticed a jerking and vibration on the truck I called the dealership the next day to talk to my salesman and he couldn’t do anything about it I been working since the date of purchase 09/13/2019 I take it to the service dep. they tell me my truck transmission is going out!

Mr. bought the vehicle as is. We provided him with pricing for a new transmission for $8,000. If he wants to come back in we can give him a price on a used transmission that might cut the cost in half. Please let him know.

I took my 2011 GMC Arcadia SUV to Mike Haggerty GMC service department to have struts applied which I believe was completed. While I was driving my car off the premises, my check engine light came on. After I made it to work, I called Keith, the service man, and let him know that the engine light was on,the tire monitoring light was on, I heard a noise and my car was still bouncing. He told me to bring the car back which I did. He told me that I needed a battery and a starter and the noise that I was hearing was from the fuse box. I gave them the okay to replace those items along with an oil change. He called me back and told me that I needed a new engine. I drove my car into the shop and I had to have my car towed out of the shop. I do not believe I blew my engine. I believe they did something to my car and want me to pay $6400.00 for a new engine. What bothers me the most was when Keith called me and said " come on Mrs., you don't need your husband's approval, you make all the decisions in your household just like my wife does." He made that comment after I told him that I needed to call my husband. My husband called and told him that we are not paying for a new engine. They replied, come pick up your SUV.

On June 7th Mrs *** brought her vehicle into our shop for a bouncy feeling from the vehicle and we replaced the struts for a charge of $820.00- Mrs *** took her vehicle and left. On June 13th Mrs *** returned saying her check engine light was on and the truck still felt bouncy. Upon test driving here vehicle the vehicle died out and would not start. We had the vehicle brought back to our shop and determined to get it started it needed a new starter and battery- the technician installed the new starter and battery and once the vehicle was running again we determined that the engine was locking up and was short 4 qts of oil. We then quoted Mrs. the price of a new engine to repair here vehicle and did not charge her for the Battery and starter that she authorized us to replace.

The dealership has gone way above and beyond to help Mrs ***, but we did not cause her engine issues and will not be responsible for the repairs.

Thank you,

Dan

We are experts in the field on automotive repair, however we can not determine that a vehicle has a engine problem, before it starts causing a issue and the customer did not complain about a engine problem, thus we had no reason to be looking for one. We did not harm the customers vehicle in any way and any issues that the vehicle currently has was not caused by our shop. The vehicle is out of any factory warranties and if the customer would like the vehicle fixed it would be at their expense.

Unfortunately we disagree strongly with the customers opinion on this matter and we will not be assisting in any repairs

Thank you,

Dan

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
According to the 2011 GMC Acadia/Acadia Denali Owner Manual section 5-23, Engine Oil Pressure Light, It states, “ If the light comes on and stays on, it means that oil is not flowing through the engine properly. The vehicle could be low on oil and might have some other system problem.” The oil light NEVER illuminated to indicate that the oil level was low. Being the experts that this company claims to be, your service technicians would have noticed the oil pressure light on when the car was in your possession on 2 separate occasions. For that reason, It’s hard for one to believe that the car was short on oil. As I previously stated, the car was driven into your shop without difficulty and had to be towed away.

We fixed the issues you had with the vehicle. If you have additional problems bring the vehicle in to the service department so we can understand what is wrong with it.

I took my truck to Mike Haggerty Service Department for a diagnostic and quote for repairs on my 2010 Buick Enclave on March 4, 2019.. I was given a written copy of the diagnostic along with the price for the repair, and took the truck back on March 6, 2019 to get the same repairs that was quoted to me by Haggerty. I drove the truck for one day and realized that the issues that I initially took the truck in for were not corrected. I dropped the truck again and informed the staff that the $717 worth of repairs that they quoted me and I paid, did not solve the issues with my truck. Service Advisor, Joseph *** contacted me the next day and informed me that the repairs that they initially diagnosed was not the problem, and that I needed pay them an extra $2000 for a new set of repairs that they never informed me about during their initial inspection. I asked why were these issues found during the first inspection and according to the Service Adivsor,"we did not do a full inspection". I informed Mr. that their practices were deceptive, and that they should put my car back together and leave it for me to pick up.

Mrs *** was in for service on March 6th since with a complaint of a roaring noise when driving. we diagnosed the noise as a faulty rear wheel bearing and she gave us the ok to repair the vehicle. On March 11th the vehicle returned with the complaint that there was a knocking noise when turning, we once again diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was a faulty steering gear. We did not charge Mrs *** for the 2nd diagnosis and advised her of what we found. Mrs *** believes that this is the same noise as the first complaint. We would be glad to try to help assist Mrs *** with this repair, but the vehicle is a 2010 with 77,000 miles and is out of any warranties at this time. Please contact Ken Pesek the service manager at the Buick store for cost assistance help on the second repair if desired.

Thank you,

Dan

The dealership believes its first response was accurate. We have been in business over 25 years and do not encourage or allow deceptive practices on any vehicle repair. We have a great reputation within our area and stand behind the technicians diagnosis that the original wheel bearing was indeed bad. The repair orders show two separate noise concerns, which would account for two separate repairs. Some vehicles may have multiple problems, we do not encourage our mechanics to try to say the vehicle needs multiple parts when they diagnose a vehicle, but instead encourage them to replace the known faulty parts one at a time.

We apologize if Mrs *** believes that we have deceived her in any way. Our service department is very transparent and welcomes customers to inspect the vehicle with the technician if desired. We would never intestinally hide or try to deceive a customer.

Thank you,

Dan

I am rejecting this response because:I was only informed of these multiple problems after paying for an inspection, and having al paid for repairs that did not do ything for the vehicle.

Sincerely,

Evelyn

Please BEWARE of the financial department they will blatantly lie in order to make more money upon a sale. I was convinced to purchase the extended warranty even though I denied it at first. However a man by the name of Abid convince me it would last the duration of my car alone. This was a flat out lie. Now I find out that I wasted $3000 on something that I can’t even use now. Don’t trust them. Read everything even if it takes you hours before signing anything. Never purchase their extended warranty it’s a waste of money.

Sexist business, treated me horribly because I am a woman. Told me they are not sexist because “my daughter works here.” Check out their website-all males. Diminished my feelings about being treated differently. Refused to replace a three dollar light bulb that they installed incorrectly. The bulb they put in fell out and burned the inside of the light. They neglected to tell me that. I spoke to the owner and manager and they suggested I take my business elsewhere and they “don’t care about my time.”
