Mike K's Auto Repair Inc. Reviews (1)

On 7-25-2016 [redacted] dropped off his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado due to brake system issue.  Upon driving the vehicle we were able to duplicate the customers concern.  Our scan tool gave us the ability to identify that the drivers side front wheel speed sensor and hub bearing...

assembly were causing a false anti-lock brake stop.  This problem is very common on this particular vehicle and in some cases requires replacement of both front hub bearings to completely repair vehicle.  We like to repair them one at a time in attempt to save our customers from having to spend any more money than necessary.  Upon replacement of drivers side hub bearing assembly we took vehicle on numerous road tests for the remainder of the day with no problems of any kind with the anti-lock brake system.

On 8-5-16 [redacted] returned vehicle explaining he had an ABS light on and was experiencing an inter brake problem.  Upon trying to hook up our diagnostic machine to his vehicle we were unable to communicate with his ABS module.  Testing found that in order to communicate with his vehicle the ABS Module would need to be replaced.  Due to the expense of a new ABS unit we informed customer on a price for a used unit.  At the time of testing this module needed to be replaced in order for us to move forward with any other repairs or diagnosis of the system.  Customer declined any further repairs and said he did not want to invest any more money into vehicle and was going to trade it in.

At some point [redacted] had another repair facility replace all his steel brake lines for the hydraulic system of his brakes.  This is unrelated to any repairs we had performed and to the electronic Anti-Lock Brake System.

Next visit by [redacted] was for us to diagnose his check engine light and problem with ABS system.   On this day we were able to communicate with his vehicle, road test, and diagnose the problem.  The passenger side wheel speed sensor and hub assembly was causing a false ABS stop.  Upon talking to customer  he became frustrated, insisting that the component we replace on the drivers side was at fault.  Last thing I would like is a frustrated customer.  I tried to explain how the entire system operates on the vehicle in order for him to understand the situation.  I offered to replace the drivers side hub bearing assembly under warranty at no cost to him that day.  He again declined.  He insisted that the passenger side hub bearing assembly had been changed a year prior by a relative of his.  At that time the relative had to replace that component twice in order to get one that functioned properly.  I explained I was not aware of what brand component he had used, but possibly that was also under a warranty from where relative purchased it from.  Due to the customer frustration I offered to try and contact the store at which they purchased that item if he could provide where it was purchased from.  I also stated that if I could get this information I would install it for him in order to correct the problem with his truck and make him happy.  Customer once again declined.

Upon leaving the customer once again said he was not going to invest any more money into vehicle and was going to trade it in.  I also let him know why his check engine light was free of charge as a courtesy to the customer.  His fuel pressure regulator was leaking fuel into the intake manifold causing a hot restart problem and check engine light.  I let him know that he should get someone to repair that for him in order to prevent expensive catalytic convertor problems.

We have been in business almost 30 years and have never had anyone contact the Revdex.com.  This is something that we are proud of.  We are part of this community and appreciate the ability to take care of our customers, their families, and friends.  I exhausted every effort to try and help the customer repair his vehicle and make him happy.  He neglected to give me the opportunity.  I even offered to help warranty a part and service that I did not install at no charge to him.  I have no problem trying to work with the customer to get this taken care of, just need the opportunity.
