Review: 10/14/13 I hired to replace my roof [redacted] did not follow threw with original contract to replace my roof and down spouts and window rap he owes me refund cause of overages he came to me after with from orgnal estmate of 8000.00 the bill was 10.495.00 I had to give him to complete job and its not finished and its messed up and I have to hire another contractor to fix mikes mess along with damages to my property [redacted] never paid to repair I want 1000.00 back to settle this matter off I dont want make back to do anything he lies to me and makes my concerns I bring to him a joke im done with him he has no understand of how to deal with homeowners concerns nor does he care I would never hire him again and will not recomend him to anybody he tried to put my shingles on in the rain and the roof leaked in my sun room and he hand me can of paint to do it myself is that how you do business like window wrap he did not finish he asked me to finish calking work that's his job not mine I paid him to do it I dont get why he thinks he should get paid for me to do his work I want refund bottom lineDesired Settlement: I want refund of 1000.00 to cover damages [redacted] did to my property and home along with the extra 15 bundles of 30.00 a bundle shingles [redacted] took from my home that I paid for along with down spouts I paid for and never got this money is also to pay to have ceiling in sun room that needs painted and to repair my back yard [redacted] runned with his truck and trailer and to hire someone to complete window wrap that [redacted] never did right he put flashing over weep holes for rain to get out I want refund

We are responding to the above complaint submitted by the customer.

On October 14, 2013 a proposal was presented to the customer to have a roof replaced at the address listed by the customer.

The proposal stated the work to be performed would be to remove and dispose of the existing roof shingles as well as gutters. Install new felt underlayment, ridge vents flashing, drip edge, 30 year architectural roof shingles and new gutters. The work would be completed for the price of $10,495.00, this amount included labor and all materials needed.

Half of the payment to be paid when job was initiated and the remaining balance due when job was completed. All this was agreed upon and accepted by the customer and signed. No material was purchased by the customer. On October 15, 2013 the job was initiated and a payment in the amount of $5,500.00 was provided by the customer, note on check stated this was for half payment for the roof replacement. On October 24, 2013 the job was completed and the remaining balance of $4,495.00 was provided by the customer with note on check stating that the amount was payment in full for the completion of the roof replacement. An amount of $8,000.00 to complete the mention work was never discussed nor indicated on any documentation . Window wrap was not stated on the proposal to be completed, however this was done as a courtesy at no additional charge to the customer.

In reference to the additional shingles, we order extra shingles in the event they are needed, we prefer to have them available than to leave a job in progress and try obtain additional shingles. We feel no refund is due because the work was completed for the price originally stated and agreed upon, actually additional work was performed at no extra charge.
