[redacted],
While I understand the customer wanting to get the remote start back on the RAV4, I don't understand why he would want it if it meant the power locks no longer work. We worked with Toyota and they do not offer a remote start for that model of Rav4 nor do they recommend putting an aftermarket remote start on this model. At this point we are on the same page as Toyota Motor Sales in not recommending a remote start be installed on this Rav4. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me at the above address.
Sincerely;

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I went to look for a vehicle to purchase in March, 2015.  I was hoping to find one that had a remote starter as I have health issues, some of which involve breathing difficulties, especially in extreme warm or cold weather conditions. I found a 2009 Rav 4 CERTIFIED VEHICLE at Mike Wood Toyota in Uniontown, PA that did have a remote starter installed on the vehicle.  The salesperson informed me that it had a remote starter but did not indicate whether it was a Toyota or aftermarket remote starter.   I picked up the vehicle on Friday evening, the 12th of March, and all the paperwork was signed at that time.  One of the pieces of paperwork I signed was the 160- POINT QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTION CHECK SHEET. The service department and various other staff signed off on this inspection sheet on the February 28th, 2015 stating all items completed. On Line 131 of this form it states that ALL AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT HAS BEEEN REMOVED FROM VEHICLE but that was not correct as the remote starter was an aftermarket product. I discovered that fact when I went back in to the dealer on Monday with issues of the power locks not working properly. At that time, they sent the vehicle to the service department to find out what the problem was. [redacted] the sales manager stated that the remote starter was a "piece of [redacted]" and was causing the problems with the power locks. The remote starter was removed at that time. Mike Wood Toyota assured me that they
would find a Toyota remote starter and install it on my vehicle, but there are no 2009 Toyota remote starters available. If or when they get a 2009 Rav 4 vehicle with a remote starter on it
they would remove and install into my vehicle is what was stated to me by [redacted] the sales manager. I would choose not to wait years to get one, that is even if one ever becomes available.
I am being told that the CERTIFICATION is being protected by not installing an aftermarket product on my vehicle but the changes in the wiring harness from the original aftermarket remote are still in the wiring harness.  The dealership sold me a CERTIFIED VEHICLE with a remote starter on it and I would like to have my CERTIFIED VEHICLE with a remote starter
like I thought I was getting when purchasing this vehicle.  I certainly would probably not have purchased this vehicle if I had known I would be going through all this song and dance over the remote starter.  I chose this dealership as I thought they were very reputable but feel I may have been mistaken.
Thank you for your time.

Review: I had purchased a 2010 Mercury Mariner back in September 2012 from this dealership. At the time they were under different ownership and was known as Uniontown Toyota. I have had no major issues with this vehicle until this past week. My car began shutting down on me in the middle of the road while driving and I had just found that this is a known issue with Mariners after they had reached 38-39k miles. My car is now at 38,6k miles. I had purchased the extended warranty through Uniontown Toyota at the time I bought my vehicle so I called for a service appointment. At first they weren't going to offer me a loaner vehicle but after talking with the GM he did approve it. I took the car in and after three hours I received a call telling me they found the issue but they could not fix it and that I would have to call the Ford garage. They also told me I had to take my car back and call the Ford garage myself. I cannot understand why they would give back this car knowing how serious of an issue this is and put the safety of myself and the public in jeopardy. I have since contacted a Ford garage for a service appointment and had it towed to this dealership myself. However, because my warranty is through Toyota, the Ford garage could not offer me a loaner vehicle while I waited for 5 days for it to be looked at. Myself and my family has contacted Mike Wood Toyota to explain to them how irresponsible it was for them to give me back the defective vehicle and all they keep telling us is that this isn't their issue but they would be happy to trade the vehicle for a newer one if I would bring it in. They are not understanding that it is not the vehicle we are complaining about, it is the lack of concern their company has for the safety of the public by giving back this faulty vehicle. (We also found that their was a recall on this vehicle back in February 2013 that I was not made aware of.)Desired Settlement: At this point, there is no settlement necessary. I have waiting long enough for an apology. I just feel that it needs to be known that customer service and common sense is highly lacking in the company.

To Whom It May Concern:

These letter is to address to complaint ID [redacted].

The customer has never purchased a vehicle from Mike Wood Toyota of Uniontown. Customer called in complaining about vehicle shutting off and that she really needed a loaner vehicle while her vehicle is worked on. As a courteously, we allowed her to use one of our vehicles while we try to determine the problem with her 2010 Mercury Mariner.

After diagnosing the vehicle, on Friday 7/5, we found that there was throttle body issues with the vehicle and it was something that can only be worked on with a Ford computer. We notified the customer with the diagnosis and asked that our vehicle be returned. Customer picked up her vehicle and proceeded to drive it out of the dealership, which was not advised, and apparently stalled out multiple times.

The local Ford dealer could not fit her into their schedule until the following Wednesday 7/10. Customer then continued to harass and slander against Mike Wood Toyota. Multiple negative remarks were posted, which we deleted, on our Facebook page. Customer also had both parents call the dealership requesting a loaner vehicle which they are waiting for the local Ford dealership to get the vehicle in for service. After several failed attempts to convey the message that Mike Wood Toyota is unable to work on the particular issue with the Mariner and that we do not offer rental cars I had to hang up the phone to end the conversation.

Enclosed is a copy of the diagnosis and the no charge repair order. I am sorry that the customer is having issues with their car, but we have never done business with them and would really like for the customer to stop the harassment and slandering towards Mike Wood Toyota of Uniontown.

Mike Wood Toyota of Uniontown

Review: About 6 weeks ago I bought a Toyota CERTIFIED 09 Rav 4 with remote start from Mike Woods Toyota. I picked it up on Friday evening and went home. Saturday morning I went to the store, and made a couple small trips ,and when I tried the keyless entry , to lock it, it would not work. Monday I went back to the garage and talked to the salesperson and she had no input with this situation. We talked with [redacted], the head of sales and he said let the service department take a look at it. The service manager checked and said that the remote start was aftermarket and was conflicting with the keyless entry, [redacted] the sales manager said it was a piece of crap and would have to be taken off and they would find a Toyota OEM remote start but there was none available. Now I have no remote start , and that was the deciding factor in buying the car, and they say that if they get a trade that will work they will take it off and put it on my car. I don't want to wait to see if or when they get a vehicle in with a remote starter that can be place on my vehicle .It may be a couple of years before a vehicle comes in. I want a remote start put back on my car. The reason I bought the car with the remote start was so I could start the car up when I take my pup with me to keep her comfortable in the different temperature changes. As I also have breathing issues, I wanted to be able to start the vehicle and have it warm up before I get it as breathing is more difficult for me in the colder temperatures, especially in the winter months, I've been taken to the cleaners on my remote start by Mike Woods Toyota. The sales manager stated I wanted them to put the remote starter on for free, and I said I paid for it in the price of the car because I would not have purchased it , but would have bought a truck from another dealer. They said they didn't want to void my certification of my car by installing a aftermarket remote start. I purchased this vehicle with certain specs, and the remote starter was one of them. It was on the vehicle when it was shown to me on the lot, and I want or expect nothing more than what I am paying for.Desired Settlement: Remote Starter put on the vehicle and must stay in the CERTIFIED status as per agreement.
