Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint You cannot state our opener was shot truthfully because you did not exam itWhen you witnessed it stop working and would only hum for a second then flash you stated "like it was common knowledge" that it was the main board failed and those are not able to be replaced and we will have to replace the entire openerOur other door opener did the exact same thing and the reputable company suspected the capacitor and opened up the cover and confirmed it was a simple $part replacementThey also told me that your "guess" that it was the board was wrongHe stated that if it was the main board it would do absolutely nothing and that they can replace the boardYou purposely mis-lead us to over charge us for things that were not neccassaryWe should only be required to pay for what needed done- not what you wanted to trump up to cheat us Regards, [redacted]

You are wrong! Your theory that "often times it is as costly to repair an opener is as expensive as replacing with a new one" was PROVEN wrong in this situationThe company that repaired my second opener cost $120~ and your replacement cost $430~Clearly you overcharged me $300~ for the same problemThe tech did not "advise" me that a replacement was "recommended"We were mislead to believe that was our only choice! That is my issue! Your tech never even opened up the garage door opener to examine itHe flat out told us he "knew" it was a bad mother board and those cannot be replacedWhen my second door did the exact same thing a week later I hired a reputable company and they actually pulled the cover off and found what they suspected- a bad electrical partI told him what your tech said and he made it clear that you have to actually open up the opener to verify what you suspectHe said the other companies tech had no idea what he was talking about with the mother boardNot only would it not do what mine was doing, but you can replace a mother boardHe said we were clearly scammedWe were cheated and you need to make it right

I did some research and the average longevity of a garage door opener is yearsYou misrepresented the situation and had me replace the entire opener at years when it was a simple $repairI would be open to meeting in the middle since my opener was approximately half way through it's expected life

Telling me what the warranty is on the opener in no way addresses my complaintWe were mislead to believe that a complete replacement was required which cost us several hundred dollars more than what was neededThis is completely unacceptable response

We did not use a "buddy" next doorA friend of ours recommended a reputable service provider that came out and properly diagnosed the same issue our other door was having and it was a simple minute job to replace the capacitor for $I have attached a copy of the bill from the company that properly diagnosed and repaired our garage door opener

Bottom line- your opener was shot, it needed to be replaced so we replaced itCan't see the logic in refunding you for an opener that is installed and working properly in your home

The business did not address my comments about overselling or other misrepresentationsAll they did was go on and on about the warrantyI would like a clearer explanation and responseThank you
