Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/12) */
I hired my hardwood flooring contractor to lay a oak flooring in the kitchen area that is above a finished crawl space area
The home owner decided he wanted to install all the base trim
When the floor was going in flooring contractor
recommended a dehumidifier to be running They never ran one
When the owner was installing the base trim hit a water line with a finish nail and caused water to leak in the crawl space area Causing extra moisture in the flooring that caused the floor to cupWe went out several times to check the moisture levels and they were above the
When we first asked about water or moisture the owner said nothing but then his wife said that he hit the water line
Flooring contractor stated to him that only extra moisture in the house will cause the floor to cup the way it has
We checked the moisture levels in the plywood sub floor in the crawl space and the levels were high
We both tried on several occasions to explain to them the reason but we're not interested in hearing itAnd then he started to Deni the water leakTo much moisture will cause the floor to cupWe offered to refinish the floors at a hugh discount to help them out Basically at cost and they wanted nothing to do with it
Not understanding why he won't own up to his water leaking has caused this to happenMoisture levels are high in front of the dishwasher as well
