Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I recently enlisted a local licensed contractor to perform modification and improvements to my two residential doors at my residence of which I ownAfter having contacted several area contractors including: [redacted] ***@ [redacted] (license # [redacted] ) with a quote 0f $on November 18th at 1:00PM, and [redacted] ***@ [redacted] Company (license # [redacted] ) with a quote of $on November 21st at 1:30PMI had gone to [redacted] and spoken with a sales tech [redacted] salesperson ID [redacted] on 9-13-paid for a review of measurements of what was needed in the replacements of my doorsI then had MrAlrtrip come out on the 27th of Nov he gave me a price of $I then enlisted MrAirtrip to install my doors, door jambs, and locks I had purchased my own locks to use, deadbolts, from Mike's Roofing & Siding (license # [redacted] ), [redacted] ***., Roanoke, Va***, telephone ###-###-####, whose advertised services include: Windows, Roofing, Siding, Remodeling, Door Installation and Jambs, and General Repair Owner MrAirtrip (aka Charles Mike Airtrip), having seen and studied the written estimates and appraisals for the work as drawn up by the above stated contractors, [redacted] and [redacted] ***gave me a verbal estimate of $on November 27th at 3:00PM for the work as outlined to be performed with a promise to give me a written estimate as I needed this prior to work being performedStating that he could get the door jambs for $or $and the doors for $250.00-and he wouldn't charge me much to do the work with which they were attempting to rip me off As I was telling him my story of being a victim of robberies and how much I had already invested into trying to protect my property, he stated he could help me for a fee of because I explained to him of my limited income of a month of SSDHe stated this in front of my home healthcare worker [redacted] who works with [redacted] CenterMrAirtrip came back December the 2nd at 4:00PM and stated he would bring the estimateHe stated the estimate was still being prepared by his wife [redacted] is the one who helped me with the hiring of MrAirtrip, MrAirrrip was referred by Skyline doorsThen [redacted] called MrAirtrip and they set up an appointment as to when we could meet and discuss the doors [redacted] heard MrAirtrip make the verbal agreement of $MrAirtrip returned on December 20th with three other workers and began work on the doorsThey removed my previous storm doors and doorjambsI inquired as to the written appraisal as promisedI was informed by one of his employees that MrAirtrip was in his vehicle preparing said appraisalAs the work progressed I contacted MrAirtrip via telephone inquiring as to why the crew would be preforming this work with an emphasis on the re-installation of my old wooden doorsI was informed at this time by MrAirtrip that my desire for the metal doors that I had requested would end up costing much more, bringing the total bill over $Under the circumstances I felt I had no choice but to accept this overcharge Then when it was all said and done it was $I paid the 1st check on 12-for $700.00, ck #***, and the 2nd check wrote on Jan 3rd for $373.37, check # ***, but not given to MrAirtrip until the 7th I put not satisfied with work done on the checkThe check was written on the 3rd because he came to work again on the doors for the 4th time, but he came back on the 5th time on the 7th so I put the 7th at the bottom of the check where I made the statement of not being satisfied with the work doneThis made five times he has worked on the doors each time it seems to have gotten worseOne night I was left with a two inch gap under the front door and the night got to degrees outsideI had to put a quilt up at my door where he had taken the threshold out and had cut off the bottom of my front door and left it this way over night The work performed and stated as completed was substandard with factory detective door hung as stated even by MrAirtrip after the fact that he proceeded to hang itWhen asked what he meant MrAirtrip stated it was cosmetic when in fact it allows an air flow around the door to come in as seen in the pictures of the gap around the doorWhen I called a reputable company and asked about the door the manger stated they would come out and cut out the hinges but that it would allow more of an air flow to come in around the doorThey also stated that they need the receipt to know the item number and the make of the door, and that they would even be willing to come out and exchange it but that I would need the receiptWhen asking MrAirtrip for the receipt for the door that carried my warranty he refused stating he needed it for his tax filing purposesThis is the back door that is in question as to the safety of my residenceThe floor on the inside of my home was recently tiled then when MrAirtrip installed the door he took out the threshold that was not needed to be replacedThen, in the process, it left a gap of inch on one side and ¾” inch of a gap at the other endFurthermore air comes in this gap not to mention the appearance that was left after the threshold was taken upOn the outside under the threshold there is a gap where there should have been some type of filler used because it also allows air to come into my residence up under my floor at the doorIt was not like this when the other threshold was inI did not ask him to replace the thresholdThere was nothing wrong with itAll that was asked of him was to replace the door jamb and to replace the door, and put new locks The front door of my residence, as now having a threshold height of over two inches, is a clear tripping hazardA piece of wood has been put up under the threshold to raise it where the door was cut off to muchThe door should never have been cut offThe threshold should never have been removedI have the threshold in my possession and there is nothing wrong with itAll I asked to replace was the door jamb and the door and new locks The reason of my complaint to the Revdex.com includes the following: MrAirtrip was fully aware of my desires and needs in the work preformed and read over all of my previous estimatesMr Airtrip stated that he could accomplish the same work for $and that the other companies were trying to rip me offAfter hanging the single metal door in the back, he revealed to me that is was a factory defect in the hinges causing it to set crooked in the frameMaterials removed from the threshold area left a significant gap, causing airflow in to my home which results in an increase in my electric bill and heating costsWhen hanging the storm door they returned twiceIn their attempts to rectify their mistake they pulled the door beyond its closing point and into the houseThe latching area of the storm door is also mangled to a point where it will not latch closedThe recessed area is jagged and not open enough nor sanded downMrAirtrip's claim that the door jam caused the storm door not to close properly is falseAll of the "after market devices" were the security bars that MrAirtrip ageed to place on the doors with our original agreementI was forced to reuse my existing front wooden door as the job would have exceeded $with the installation of the metal door I had originally requestedSince I have a limited income I had no other alternative but to accept thisThe door is so ill fitting that it requires a forceful slamming to remain closed and latchedThe screws in the middle of the door from the replaced locks fall right out without being unscrewedDuring his process two inches were permanently removed from the front door by skill saw resulting in his company placing a two inch threshold at my front doorThe threshold was installed with untreated wood which will rot and be more susceptible to elemental damageThis is a trip hazard considering the exterior stoop board is narrow by designThis board was cracked as well during the installation process with no attempts at a repair, allowing for water intrusionThe weather stripping is ripping due to poor installation and that is also creating air gaps and heat lossDue to increased power and pressure in the usage of the door the installed Jocks and door knob are requiring daily tightening and the door knob plate is not flush with the doorThere were return trips for the deadbolts not setting properly into their recessed areas which is still a problemAn area of carpet was lifted at my front door and not reattached as found as well as a section of stripping at the front door which held down the linoleum was taken from the sight and disposed of I am not satisfied with the work preformed and I do not feel secure in my home due to the sub par standard by which they operateI have had MrAirtrip come out to fix the work separate times, and with each trip the work has been worseI would like to have MrAirtrip have someone else subcontract to do the work correctlyShort of that I would like to have this complaint verified so that any others looking to get work on their property could be made aware of his standards before they hire himThank you Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below To whom it rnay concem: I do not wish for MrAirtrip to further damage any of the "work" that he has completedHe h¡s been over four times to correct his work, each time becoming worseNo one else has done any work on my doors because they will not touch them due to liability issuesI asked for a written contract from day oneI have written documentation for all of the other estimates from each company I inquired to fix my doors and asked the same of MrAirtripWhen he began the work he was reportedly finishing up my written contract which he never supplied me withI never agreed to have him work on my doors on a mere verbal agreementHe was chosen because his estimate was the cheapest and I have a limited income I would like to have the receipts and paperwork so that I can file for current and any future replacement or damages done to my locks and doors which I purchased though himI do not wish to use Mr Airtrip's services at all in the future and this would make it easier on all parties involvedI do not accept MrAirtrip's offer to come to fix a door that he has cut and a threshold that is too high without replacing the door itself and putting a proper non trip hazard threshold in it's placeAlso the outer step to enter the home was broken and needs a proper fixFurthermore, there is no way to fix the factory defective side door without a receipt and item number, and since I do not wish for MrAirtrip to do any more work on my property, having that would be much appreciated, There is also no way to correct the poor work done with his drimmel tool in the storm door recess for the latch I would be happy to have MrAirtrip pay for a professional national company to come in and fix his work but I will not be accepting his services- Thank you for your consideration Sincerely, [redacted]

MrArtrip states he and the consumer had a verbal agreement He fulfilled that agreementHe stand by his work He is willing to go back and repair anything he did, however he will not work on what anyone else did

Paul the owner was very helpful in setting up the screening of my laniAt the same time my condo neighbor had his lani metal painted and screen installed and the serviceman Ray was very efficient He figured out a way to accommodate my TV service cable which was in the way of the screening installationRay also cleaned up well and was a very good worker!!

There will be no refund, she already has all the paperwork she needs She got what she paid for and if there are any other complaints, she should contact DPOR I stand by my work and my first response
