The picture with the green grass is our responsible sign taken sometime in the summer that we have at all of our locations; we attached it to show that we have a sign stating we are not liable for pre-existing damageThis sign stays up year around and is at every Mike's CarwashI can attach this same picture showing current weather conditions around it if you wish. Our offer to arbitrate this matter still stands; we believe that there was prior damage and we are not liable.Thank you,Mike's Carwash

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Regards,
[redacted] As a result of my experience and loss, if people will come to know that Mike's car wash will come up with reasons to deny facts and not take responsibility; I would consider my bad experience with Mike's car wash to be a way to caution other people. In Mike's car washes world, a car being sent into a car wash with the wheel going over the rail and landing back and forth from rail to floor will not throw the car out of alignment and will not bend an aluminum rim. Hope someone who has a damage on their car will have my experience as a record of precedence. In June I had alignment done on my car as my annual maintenance. In August this incident happened at Mike's car wash.In September I had the car aligned because of the incident at Mike's car WashThe problem was not fixed and so I tried another place and got a second alignment doneThe problem persisted and that is when I was told by a tire place, after a considerable inspection and removing each wheel and put it on a balancer that the driver side wheel is bentI moved that wheel to the rear and bought a wheel, which I took with me and showed Mike's car wash's manger. He wants a bent wheel to look like a pretzel. That is the narrative and Mike's car wash will spin this so that they can deny responsibility. Be cautious dealing with Mike's car wash. I intend to post my story in as many places as possible. Thanks. [redacted]

Attached are two pictures; one of [redacted] vehicle showing two visible stone chips and the additional clear coat removed along with our  "Responsible Sign" which is posted at the entrance of our Mike's Carwash location. We have this sign stating that we are not responsible for anything...

that has prior damage to their vehicle. Which I explained to Mr. Miller we are seeing two stone chips (which I attached the pictures under [redacted]) exposing his paint and allowing water and air pressure to get underneath the clear coat to come off. Did we help it along? Very possible but the direct cause of this was from the stone chips that was already there prior to the carwash. This was the reason we felt the settlement that we offered to [redacted]r was a very fair settlement.Thank you,Mike's Carwash

Can the customer please forward to us a copy of what advertising she is looking so we can forward it to our advertising department.Thank you,Mike's Carwash

[redacted] did stop by our location yesterday and meet with our Location Manager, [redacted] to further discuss this claim with him on his wheel. After meeting with him we totally understand that [redacted] truly feels that this occurred at Mike's Carwash.  Unfortunately, after seeing his paperwork and looking further at his wheel we do not see eye to eye with [redacted] for the following reasons:1) Attached you will see paperwork showing he got 2 alignments done from 2 different companies within a three week period2) [redacted] told him that it was a bent rim not an alignment problem. A bent rim occurs from hitting something very hard and at a rate of speed. That would not occur while going through Mike's Carwash. You are going less then 2 miles per hour when going through the carwash.3) When our Manager looked at the wheel with [redacted] he could not point out which wheel it was.... when looking at the wheel you visible could not see any damage. With all of this being said we do not feel we are responsible for this damage to his wheel.Thank you,Mike's Carwash

We apologize to [redacted] that he has not been contacted by Mike's Carwash that is very unusually; we would ask since he mentioned that he filed a claim if he has the claim ticket number and name of who signed his claim so we can look into this further. Unfortunately the reason he has not heard...

back from us is we do not show record of this being submitted to our Customer Service Department; but we certainly want to get to the bottom of this situation. If he could please let us know the claim ticket nubmer and whover signed his claim we could further investigate into this situation.Thank you.

We certainly understand Ms. [redacted] concerns regarding her rims she has a very nice vehicle. What we were trying to explain to Ms. [redacted] is that the damage that is on her rims were not consistent with our carwash equipment. I did offer to her several times to walk her through the carwash...

tunnel so she could see exactly how the carwash equipment does touch her rims. We would like to extend this offer out to her. We could have an Area Director schedule a meeting with her so they could discuss and walk through the carwash tunnel and visual see what does and does not touch her rims. We feel that this would be the best solution to this incident.Thank you, [redacted]Mike's Carwash

[redacted] did file a incident report with us on January 30, 2016 at our [redacted] location in [redacted]. When reporting the incident she stated the following being damaged to her Hyundai Sonata:"rt passenger side mirror broke off - license plate (front) bent forward white paint scraping...

on front right side by tire"Being she reported multiple things we watched the video footage of her vehicle to see actual what was going on when her vehicle was going through our carwash tunnel. I explained this to [redacted] when speaking to her on the phone and offered to show her the video footage; which this offer still stands. The video footage shows that her brakes were applied inside our carwash at an area where our equipment would have made contact with her mirror. We have signs posted at the entrance of the carwash stating not to brake. For this reason we do not believe this damage is any fault of Mike's Carwash but unfortunately due to her brakes being applied it allowed her mirror to be damaged. We are willing to show her this video footage at the [redacted] location. We do not feel we are responsible for the damages to her vehicle due to the stated above reasons.Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.A reenactment of this incident would probably not prove anything as I'm fairly certain the prep gun in question has most likely been repaired or replaced since this happened.  If Mike's Car Wash will not accept responsibility for property damage caused by their equipment in a WITNESSED  event then there is really nothing to arbitrate.  It's their word against ours. The staff at the 8281 Highland Pointe Dr in West Chester, OH was rude and suggested this was my fault since I did not check to make sure the previous user had placed the prep gun back in the holder.  Whether or not I checked to see if the prep gun was in the holder is irrelevant.  A high pressure water hose should NEVER engage without being triggered by the operator.  Period.  Claims manager, Janeese [redacted], stopped just short of calling me an outright liar telling me it was impossible for this to have occurred. Prep guns don't just "hover" in the air and it couldn't have only caused one spot of damage on the opposite side of where the prep gun was laid.  It was never recorded where the prep gun was laid and an unrestrained high pressure water hose can absolutely whip around. This has been turned over to State Farm Insurance.  The best I can do is let others know via social media, blogging, word of mouth etc. of how poorly this was handled and the horrible customer service.  Caveat emptor.

[redacted] I could not drive the car after the incident and so I had the car repaired and I have bills to prove it. If you want, I can take the bills to Mike's car wash and show the paper work to them. I am glad that Mikes car wash would like to resolve this matter and I hope they will do it expediently. Thanks. The pictures they have do not prove anything. This damage happened to my car at Mike's Carwash in December. The grass is not lush and green in December as seen in the misleading photo they provided. Also as you look at the pictures of the damaged clear cot on my car it is obvious that some of the areas are bubbled with water and air underneath the clearcoat. This is evidence of new damage not prior damage. I am absolutely 100% sure if we look at  all the video footage from my visit, the fact that my car was not damaged before revieving services at Mike's Carwash would be evident.

Thank you for your quick response in this matter. A little background on me and my vehicle. I'v had my 2014 Flex for approximately 6 months. I only drive it on Sundays to church and my days off. I drive a 19 year old Suburban during the week. On this particular day I had been at a good friends funeral all day and when that was over I went home, changed my clothes and drove to Mike's car wash. Got my Flex washed, went home to wipe it down and put it in the garage and found the damaged tire and rim. This was the only place I went besides the church and there I parked so far away from other cars that it could not have happened there. Also the damage is so obvious I would have noticed it immediately as I did after the vehicle was washed. I haven't been able to drive this vehicle since the damage was done. You can't just replace one tire, that doesn't work. I have to wait until I can afford a complete set, and pay to have the rim repaired, so this vehicle sits in my garage as it came from the car wash, damaged. I'm including pictures taken immediately after it happened. I really don't expect Mike's to take responsibility for this, cmon, there a huge corporation, they don't have too. So, thank you for your concern, but I don't hold out any hope that Mike's will do the right thing and take responsibility for their car wash damaging my vehicle.

[redacted]

We have attached two pictures; one of our not responsible sign that is located at all of our Mike's locations at the entrance of every Carwash. Also, the other attached picture is of [redacted] vehicle. We have circled where the clear coat has come off and indicated by arrows where we believe...

there was previous damage prior to the carwash. The vehicle's finish did have paint chips and some paint finish issues going on with it prior to the wash and for this reason we do not feel we are liable for this damage. We are always willing to arbitrate this matter.Thank you,Mike's Carwash

In response to Mikes Carwash. They did let me take my vehicle through the tunnel with the onsite manager and we both witnessed the machine slam into the side of my vehicle. They wanted to run the vehicle through a second time to take video which doesnt show how hard the machine slammed into the side of my car. When I pulled back around to come talk to the manager again, I looked at my rims and noticed 2 more rims were damaged. The same 2 to 3 inch damage that I noticed on my original claim that was denied. I waited around my car calling my insurance company to see what my options were with them since I was already getting the run around about my claim with the carwash. After about 30 minutes I called the customer service manager back to see if they had come to a decision and she immediatly yelled "Do I need to call the cops". I said if you feel the need to. I waited for the police to arrive and left per the request of the officer. They also mention I was stopping customers as they walking into the establishment. I did mention to a few customers that walked past and/or were in the office while I waited for a response from the corporate office. I would want to know if a companies equipment was damaging cars if I was about to go through with my expensive car or giving a wash as a gift.In response to the next day when I met with Charles A[redacted]. When I showed Mr. A[redacted] my damage he might have spent 30 seconds looking at the damage before taking me into the tunnel to show me how smooth the machine was running that day. I saw several trucks and 1 car that was not even close to the style of my car I had taken through the car wash. I did notice a van get damaged while we watched vehicles come through. It left a big black streak down the side runner of the van but he still denies the machine damages vehicles. When I asked him to compare the heights of the damage to my vehicle and the damaged platic guards on the machine. He said I dont see how are machine could damage your car and said we will have to agree to disagree. This is when I got upset about their attempt to bring a close to the Revdex.com claim. The whole time I was there he kept wanting to tell me how long Mikes had been in business and his 20 year resume at Mikes. He also kept mentioning the amount of expensive cars they have washed over years and never had clqims from them. Never did they have a resolution to my issues and the way I was treated the day prior. Never did I approach a customer on the lot or in the office that day. I did mention to 1 customer to watch out for damage while I waited for them to find my claim from the day prior. Which was found in the dumpster. They claimed they attached the new claim damage to the previous days claim even though it was a new claim for the damage that was caused while they took video of my car going through the carwash per their request. They say they that they will thoroughly review your experience, process claims fairly and accurately, professional etc etc etc. They might have spent 5 minutes looking at my claimbefore sending me 2 free washes. I filed on a thursday and received my letter that following monday. How can you review and inspect your equipment that fast and have a response to me in that short of a time frame. They still refuse to look at the damage and match it up to the pictures that were taken.
